CorvairJim Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 At first I just thought it was the result of a crossbreeding experiment between a '41 English Ford and a Volkswagen Beetle gone horribly wrong, but then I did a little research and found that it's a... No, you're not gonna get it out of me THAT easily!
mickey1938 Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I think it's really a German made Car, Side Marker Turn Signal, the cocked in rear Wheels, I think it's a _________ tune in Monday for the correct answer, that's all folks! mickey1938
Thom Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 It does look a lot like a VW Beetle. He said, giving them an illegal hint to throw them off!
Harry P. Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 He said, giving them an illegal hint to throw them off! ... no, not a hint, just an observation.
Modelmartin Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Actually, It looks like the lovechild of a 40 Willys and a VW Beetle! The grilles look a bit like a 39-40 Lincoln, also!
Harry P. Posted May 4, 2012 Author Posted May 4, 2012 The car in the picture is a 1951 (I think) Toyota "Toyopet" Model SA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_SA This particular model was made from 1947 to 1952, and they all looked pretty much the same... so if you guessed the model year within that range you got credit. Who got it right: Badluck 13 sjordan Chris R mr moto trogdor Johnny Jon Cole Foxer Corvair Jim maltsr mr chips Bugace george53 62rebel Thom
ChrisR Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 The car in the picture is in the Toyota Museum, Japan, and is a 1951.
otherunicorn Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 And here I was thinking it was British, not that I limited my search to British cars. Must have wasted 3-4 hours looking.....
Harry P. Posted May 4, 2012 Author Posted May 4, 2012 And here I was thinking it was British, not that I limited my search to British cars. Must have wasted 3-4 hours looking..... Don't think of it as 3-4 hours wasted... think of it as 3-4 hours learning!
62rebel Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 "wasting" 3-4 hours on a computer requires something with pigs and birds.... spending 3-4 hours doing research is LEARNING.... we should try to do THAT every day. unless pigs and birds are more your "thing".
george 53 Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Looked like an old neighbors Simca. A Simca what, I don't remember, just that it was a Simca, and looked similar!!!
W-409 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 This was very hard one, I used few hours trying to find out, what it is. But I didn't get it this time, I had no idea at any point. Well at least I was pretty sure that it was Real, not a Model.
