Rusty Sierra Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Here's my latest. you may notice the BMF is a bit thick along the sides, this is a slight cover up on my part. I wasn't happy the way it went on the first time and when I took it off, the paint came with it... It turned out alright though and I learned a lot from it. Here's my collection since I started building a couple months ago
cobraman Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Looks good. I have had BMF lift paint when I used it as a masking. Did you have a good primer and coat of clear on the body ?
Rusty Sierra Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 When I paint I sand the body first, light mist of primer to check for imperfections, sand em' out then completely prime, then I'll do 2-3 coats of paint. I have used clear before however, this car didn't receive any. I think the paint lifted due to the fact that I didn't wait long enough for the paint to set up. It was one of those testors one coat lacquers that dries pretty fast (I waited a day).
