Hey Chris

I would like to "suggest" some "inexpensive" tools for you and prehaps a few building suggestions as well.

In your first picture you haven't yet removed the "REMOVE" tabs frome the side windows, this could damage your paint job.

A set of side nippers will cleanly take care of this, Hobby Lobby should have these for around five or six bucks.

In the pictures of the engine and interior I saw evidence of "nubs" from the sprue, these can be remedied with a set of finger nail clippers and fine tuned with an emery board, both of which can be found at the Dollar Store.

The clippers will save your steering wheel as well.

I see by the picture that you primed the body, this is very good. (I found out the hard way  )

But it looks like, (here is where it took me being told by my friend Bill), marbling from the plastic showing thorough the paint.

This is what Bill told me to do, use metallic silver on marbled plastic, as in the body has swirls in the plastic, Hope you got my meaning?

With your chassis work, can only suggest three things to try,

a very good "sable" liner brush and a steady hand, for the frame rails.

Taping off the rails, "very" time consuming and lots of tape,

Lastly, I have read that Silly Putty can be used to mask off the chassis and with a hobby knife angle the putty down to where the base of the rail and the chassis meet.

Just some friendly suggestions for you to consider! :D

Glad to have you in the Hobby!!

We are all here to learn and have fun!!

Looking forward to seeing more from You!!

Thank You for sharing

Thank you for the feedback, I don't understand what you mean by marbling, so if you can explain that more that would be greatly appreciated. Right now I'm just having an issue with the spindles staying on w/o gluing them in.....

Marbling is when a body is molded in a color, like the body in that kit is blue, and there are swirl marks in the plastic made as the mold was filled. Plastic can have a "grain" to it caused by plastic flowing in different directions meeting meeting each other in the middle of your body panels. Some paints follow this "grain" and cause a problem called "ghosting", where artifacts from the plastic cause imperfections in the paint.

This one is sitting on the side lines until I get my front windshield. I'm currently stripping my 1970 1/2 Camaro Z 28 and my 2006 Dodge Charger that my son got a hold of. He took a black sharpie to the charger and tore apart the Camaro while putting deep scratches into the paint....... Right now the body of the camaro is sitting in Windex (seen it online that it works) also trying to get parts for that. I'm hoping I can find someone with the parts that we can work something out since I don't have stuff to trade for the parts :( Still debating on the color of the Camaro is going to be and the color of the interior. Another thing I would like to know is where can I get flocking for the floor and how do you do bare meta, foil? Thinking about doing that on the Camaro....

You might want to spend some money on Donn Yost's videos, in them he explains a lot about the basics of modeling. He shows you how to improve your skills in a very easy to follow fashion.

Okay re-doing the interior bucket paint wise. Had a lot of other paint I didn't want in there so I re did the primer and put a metallic over the primer then going to paint it again. I'll post pics of the tub tomorrow when its lighter outside. I also re painted the racing seats blue to match the interior color. still deciding where I'm going to mount the Nos bottle at and also debating if I want to put the sound system in. I also have a tach I'm going to add onto the dash tomorrow.

If I need some help I will pm you, I have had this model for almost a month and I have still yet to finish it lol but I'm taking it slow to make it turn out right. I was wondering if anyone had some Testors ELO they can send me. I was spraying some parts in metallic aluminum and some over spray got onto the hood and body of the nova after I had sprayed a dull clear, which was on accident on my part I meant to pick up gloss clear, oh well lol

Well decided to do an update. I started to see some problems in the paint so now I'm in the process of stripping it. Going to do some body work to it and then put it through paint again. Well hopefully it will all work out.

Hey there Chris, not gonna lie, I was there where you are once and I just kept on doing it before there was even such a thing as a forum. Everything I know is from what I've experienced and learned through others and by others I mean I can count them all on one hand. lol. If you need help feel free to message me. You can check out my underglass "68 firebird amateur stock car" and "57 belair rodded out". Take a look at those and if you have any questions let me know. I know what its like to want to make a bad ass model and even still I don't consider my stuff first rate. I am always looking to better my stuff. P. M. me if need be.
