SuperStockAndy Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Okay, not sure if this should be posted here or in the 1:1 reference pics section. Please move it if necessary So I have a '71 Chevy K/20. Been a ranch truck all 41 years of its life, hence all the scratches and dents We put a 4" Rough Country lift on it, and some Ultra 164 16" rims.
rustymodeler Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 All the scratches and dents are what make these trucks. They built these for work trucks and is exactly what they are good for. I had a 2WD when I was in High School, and I loved the ol girl. You do have a very nice truck here, and I wouldnt change the paint I like it that way.
SuperStockAndy Posted May 17, 2012 Author Posted May 17, 2012 Thanks Jerred The dents and scratches do indeed give it character, but I plan on repainting it the factory Hugger Orange/white combo.
Austin T Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 (edited) My mothers first truck was a '72 Chevy that didn't like to idle at red lights,I am actually going to make her one for her b-day. Edited May 17, 2012 by Austin T
Haubenschild Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 So in the U.S you can drive at 13? , and Nice truck BTW , It should look good in Hugger orange
Joe Handley Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 So in the U.S you can drive at 13? , and Nice truck BTW , It should look good in Hugger orange So long as he's legally on private property (as in it's his parents ranch) it shouldn't matter.
mikemodeler Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Very nice Andy, I am jealous of that truck but I am sure you have worked hard on it and will take great care of it. I really like the color combo and the lift gives it a nice aggressive look!
SuperStockAndy Posted May 17, 2012 Author Posted May 17, 2012 Thanks guys Liam, I just drive around the house and all that, not on the road.
Dr. Cranky Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 That's a wonderful truck, Andy. Thanks for sharing.
Bad Brad #2 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Thanks guys Liam, I just drive around the house and all that, not on the road. Careful of that furniture
SuperStockAndy Posted May 17, 2012 Author Posted May 17, 2012 Careful of that furniture What's that now?

Wagoneer81 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 No rust is a good thing.... Especially in Indiana, the land of salted roads and rusty rocker panels.... Very nice looking old Survivor!
hotrod59f100 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Nice truck andy.take good care of her and she will treat you right.
Rob McKee Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 That is a real nice truck Andy. The tires look great on it. My dad had a 72 and I just loved that truck. It suffered from a little rust so he sold it to buy an 80 chevy pickup. I loved that truck to.
The70judgeman Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 For a 41 year old work truck, it looks amazing from what I can see from the pic. Had to be very well cared for and not abused. You've got a winner there. Wouldn't change it anymore than you already have.
SuperStockAndy Posted May 18, 2012 Author Posted May 18, 2012 Thanks guys Chris, the truck came from South Dakota, so dry there that cars don't rust Andy, this was a ranch truck, so it was BRUTALLY abused. It looked pretty rough when we got it (about 5 years ago to the day), but after about 10 waxes, we got her shiny again These pics I took today show off the beautiful dents
1930fordpickup Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Neat old truck Andy ! Give that Chevy a little TLC .
mikemodeler Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Andy, That is a very nice truck and I would enjoy it as it is. If you tear it apart and repaint it, you will be hesitant to drive it anywhere. You have a "survivor" there, nothing wrong with that.
