Eshaver Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Monogram did a 78 malibu in 1-32 scale . The last time I saw that kit , it was some kind of a Fire Chief car . Monogram, then Revell did an Elcamino , first as the Bass Master set . Thats all I'm familiar with ......... Ed Shaver
Luc Janssens Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I have been wanting to do a 1980 Malibu....does anyone make this kit? Perry's resin has/had a '81 Malibu 2dr & wagon in it's lineup, I have the wagon and it's beautifull, you just need the mpc '80 Monte Carlo for the underpinnings....
Sixx Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Bandit Resin? http://www.banditres...sin_bodies.html Bandit gets my vote!!! I'm gettin one or two soon, that was my mom's favorite car she had before she passed.
cherokeered Posted May 17, 2012 Author Posted May 17, 2012 Good info....the Bandit kit does look nice. Is the 80 MPC Monte Carlo the best choice to use with it or is there any other options?
Sixx Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 (edited) Good info....the Bandit kit does look nice. Is the 80 MPC Monte Carlo the best choice to use with it or is there any other options? I'm not sure,if someone else could chime in...I'm wondering too. Bandit's got some good resin castings-nice & thin!! Here we go...for bandits car, use the AMT/MPC Elcamino kit! my80malibu Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I have the Perry's version of this model kit still gathering parts for this build of a replica of my former 1-1 car
Guest Darkside Customs Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Yea, the AMt El Camino kit is a good donor for this....
Luc Janssens Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Yea, the AMt El Camino kit is a good donor for this.... IIRC unless you ordered the resin chassis, from Perry, you'd be better off with using the '80 Monte, because the chassis of the El Camino is too long, even for the wagon.
