I now realize it is incorrect as it should be a Catalina. The decals ( Fred Cady and white film ) and color are based on an old promotional film. The chassis is Monograms 59 Impala with 2 shocks per wheel. A modified stock bucket seat and engine were pirated from a GTO kit. Thanks for looking. Edited May 19, 2012 by jdcar32
bbowser Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Nice job. Love seeing these older NASCARS being built.
TooOld Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Looks good Jon . It doesn't matter whether it's a Bonney or a Catalina . We need more builds like yours .

jjsipes Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Nothing like the stock cars of yesteryear. Looks awesome. Thank you for sharing.
MarkJ Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 (edited) Great job on the Pontiac, Jon. I believe that is the car Buck Baker drove in place of Jack Smith that took the Southern 500 in 1960. Like you said the Catalina was a little shorter and made a better race car than the Bonneville. Edited May 22, 2012 by MarkJ
