I went out to my favorite automotive store for some paint. I get home and there's a big garbage bag on my porch. Inside are dozens of old, really old model kits and parts! NOT A CLUE WHERE THEY CAME FROM!

Whats more, I don't even recognise most of them! They're all from the fifties and sixties. What I want to know is, where can I post them here on the forum? I know there's a buncha guys out there with old kits in thier collection that have missing parts so i'd like to post some pictures and maybe make some trades.

Is the "swap/trade/free" section the appropriate place?

If you are trading them, then yes, Swap/Trade/Free is the right spot. If you are trying to ID them before trading, then post them in General with a topic like..."Help me identify this". I suspect once you have then IDed, you will probably have no problem trading them off.

Best of luck. If you ever find out where they came from, be sure to thank that person!

Wow. I've DREAMED of something like that happening... so far, no luck.

I'd go with what Mike said. If you plan to trade them, you could just post some pictures in the 'Swap,Trade, or Free' section. You could also ask people to identify what's what in that post, but you might have better luck finding out what makes/models/years the cars are with a "Help me ID these kits" type post here in General.

I agree that someone dropping off a bunch of models on your doorstep is pretty cool, but I'm thinking a different kind of model... :P

It can happen to you. The trick is to let everyone know that ,"Yes, you play with those little toy cars". Then, " Oh , do you want these? My (insert , friend, cousin, son, husband, former roommate, the guy that used to live here) Had these and doesn't want them any more". This from personal experience.

Are you talking about a model that has two legs and arm's, Harry? LOL

About the kit's and IDing them, I agree with the others as well.

Gisele Bundchen? Naomi Campbell? Kate Upton? Brooklyn Decker?

I couldn't be lucky enough to get the two legged variety.

It's a big box and there's alot, and I mean ALOT of parts in here. Tires, bumpers, grilles, hoods you name it it's here. I'll try to take pictures of bunches and number them so we can get some ID going. Thanks all.

Do you really have no idea who it came from? A relative, a club member... someone obviously knows you're into model cars, so I'm thinking that if you think about it you'll figure out who it probably was.

Honestly no. I haven't really had a chance to try and match anything up. I'll try to get to it in the next couple days though. There are a few instruction sheets and decals with this mess too.
