BKcustoms Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 I've been wanting to test out my airbrush for something a little more precise than painting entire bodies and I finally decided to try some colored Real Fire on a NASCAR body I was working on. I drew out a rough idea of where I wanted the flames in white basecoat using a homemade stencil and then shot a coat of over reduced (for transparency) Laser red and Intense blue over the white areas. then I went through and added highlights and more color over and over until I had the depth I wanted. I can do a step by step tutorial if anyone would be interested. Let me know what you think! Billy
jamesG Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Great job billy. I would love to see a step by step. What model airbrush did you use?

BKcustoms Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 Tanks a bunch guys! James, I use a Snap On BF105 gravity feed airbrush. I believe it is the same thing as a Badger 105. I posted a tutorial in the tips/tricks section http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=59272&pid=708304&st=0&#entry708304
Burnout Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Looks really good! Could you post a photo of the stencil? Thanks, KB
DanielG Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Bill, I think that you nailed the red but maybe not so much the blue.
crazyjim Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 I like it. Fatkidd was over the other day and was showing me some things. Now I have to practice.
BKcustoms Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 Thanks guys, I was thinking Ineed to practice the blue some more too.
