Lovefordgalaxie Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 I got this Ford online, already built. I planned to use it just as spare parts, but ended taking it apart and doing a rebuild. I turned it into a 1960's style custom, nothing radical, and also nothing that couldn't be reversed back to stock on a real car. That's my main goal when I do something non stock, being able to reverse it to stock, and don't ruining the car. The before pictures:
MrObsessive Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 GORGEOUS! And I must say your foiling job is excellent as well! Any '50's-'60's car can be a real challenge to BMF!
Lovefordgalaxie Posted June 12, 2012 Author Posted June 12, 2012 Thanks for the comments!! I agree with you Bill, 100%. For me, the most chalenging was the '58 Impala, at least untill now. My 1/12 scale '57 Bel Air was close, but just because of the size, and it used an entire bare metal envelope.
rmvw guy Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 I like it and I like it the way it was before, I would just get two of them.
Kustom Rodder Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Turned out really nice... nice work on the interior as well.
kruleworld Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 it came out nice enough. Do you often change them back to stock? i like your chrome trim effort, it sets it off nicely.
philo426 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 There was nothing wrong with it when you obtained it but the red is a nice finish.
Badluck 13 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 AWwwwwwwww that sure is pretty, heck it looked good before, but now even much better,Túlio ,I enjoy seeing your works of art!!
dimaxion Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Excellent save . The mild custom touches are perfect . The pinstripping and all else make this just right . ..Thanx ..
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) Amazing how the right color, some pinstriping and detailing can really make a car pop, model or 1:1. I really love love love this body style, and think it's one of the best looking cars ever built, frankly. Nice rework. I see your red is over a silver base. Is it a candy red, or a metallic? Not model cars, I was talking about 1:1 cars. I don't do any modification that can't be reversed, and I try to do the same with the models, to represent cars that are customs, but can be reversed to stock condition once again.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 I really appreciate the comments guys!! My Ford is reading them too, and he's insuportable right now. He's like "I'm the best fu**** model car in display here in this fu**** shelf!!"

Sorry I forgot to answer sooner. The paint is Tamiya Mica red, straight from the spray can, it's not candy, it's metallic. I gave a littlemore efect using the Tamiya Pearl Clear, so it's kind os a metalic and perolized paint job. The silver is just a base, because the Tamiya Mica Red paint is very transparent, and would require lots of coats if not by the silver base. Using a gold base, you can get a different shade or red, a little darker.
