itsclayyoo Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Soo let me start off by saying, Im not trying to bash anyone. Thats not my intentions.. But i bought some resin parts from RR and that was on April 13. It is now June 14th .. and i still haven't received my parts, whats up with this guy? I've spoke with him on the phone. And I THOUGHT we had an understanding... Guess not.. Has anyone else had a bad experience with this guy?
Jon Cole Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Someone needs to start a separate web page on this. It's both sad, and legendary.

Jordan White Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Could one of the mods make a pinned thread about RR so these sorts of threads can be prevented?
mikemodeler Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Well Clayton, if you are referring to Reliable Resin, this topic is as good as locked! You will be attacked by the owner of RR and the moderators here will lock this up and delete faster than the blink of an eye! Lesson learned and hopefully you will eventually get your stuff but as Jonathan posted the other links, others have not fared well.
mikemodeler Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Could one of the mods make a pinned thread about RR so these sorts of threads can be prevented? For legal reasons I don't think we will ever see that happen here or on other forums. Slander is not something you want to be a part of in a lawsuit.
Jordan White Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Not necessarily slander, I was just thinking more of a "timeframes may vary" sort of deal, basically saying that any resin place may take a while to have the parts made and sent. Seems like many people think that it's like a regular business, and that the parts will be out in a few weeks. Just sayin.
mikemodeler Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 (edited) The history of Reliable Resin and members experiences have been well documented here Jordan and the posts become nasty and usually locked in a small amount of time. The best advice is for someone contemplating buying from an online supplier is to first ask for references or opinions from the forum, saves a ton of headaches and heartaches! My thoughts on resin buying are these: 1. Never send someone money you aren't prepared to lose. 2. Check with others before sending off your money. 3. Buy it in person at a show if at all possible. 4. If it seems to good to be true, then it probably is! There are some resin casters who you never hear a complaint about and they tend to have the highest quality product- coincidence or not? Two rules about buying via the internet: 1. Buyer Beware 2. There's a sucker born every minute. Edited June 15, 2012 by mikemodeler
Casey Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 There is plenty of commentary regarding Reliable Resin and people's experiences with them, both good and bad, in the Resin section. A forum search will turn up at least three locked threads about Reliable Resin in the Resin section, so from that each person needs to draw their own conclusions. I wish people would use the forum as the valuable resource it is- if you are unsure of anything, ask! There are plenty of MCM members willing to share their experiences with you, so please, ask first. On page one of the Resin section there's a topic regarding Jimmy Flintstone and his products, with honest comments, opinions and suggestions from forum members about JF's products.

Seems like many people think that it's like a regular business, and that the parts will be out in a few weeks. Just sayin. That's really up to the buyer when s/he decides to purchase something. Some people don't mind waiting for month to receive products, and some get impatient after two days. There is no blanket statement which can cover every business, and it's not fair to lump all businesses together, even if they all make similar products. For many resin casters, this is a full-time business and for some it's a part-time gig. Each buyer needs to ask before they order if they have questions regarding payment terms, delivery time, quality, etc. and then there will be no surprises down the line.
