cobraman Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 (edited) Simple car to build as this is a cubside type of kit. No engine and chassis has everything molded into one unit. I think I finished this in about 4 days. I haven't done a car that quick in many, many years. Build pretty much stock with just a couple of mods. I molded in the front and rear pans and drilled out and sank some plastic tube in to make the 2 sunkem antenna's. Paint is black lacquer with HOK Marbilizer to put as one guy called a "skunk stripe" down the center of the car. it was followed by 3 coats of clear and a polish of Novus # 2 and then a wipe down with Novus # 1. Comments both good and bad are always welcome. Thanks for looking. Edited June 18, 2012 by cobraman

rmvw guy Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I love the 3/4 front shot, got any more pictures of the rear?
cobraman Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 Not any good ones due to camera problems . I will try and post better ones tomorrow.
Dr. Cranky Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 There's something about that stripe that really makes this model stand out. The colors, the wheels, very nice. Congrats.
TooOld Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Nice looking '61 you have there . And the red interior is period correct ! Don't see that much nowadays . BTW , I like your new avatar . That is really Blue !
cobraman Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 Thank you fellows. Ron, here is that 3/4 rear view.
Beerman86GT Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 NICE!!! I have this sitting on the shelf in the garage, you know what's bad, I did not even realize it was a curbside kit! Can't wait to start on it now!!!!
Drgon63 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Ol School.....love the red wheels with that paint job on this car.... nice simple clean....
Bartster Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Gotta get one of these kits! Love the "skunk stipe". Makes it unique. Bart.
Sixties Sam Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Very nice build! The stripe is cool, really sets it off! One small suggestion: if it were mine, I might add a pair of baby moon hubcaps on the front wheels. Sam
cobraman Posted June 20, 2012 Author Posted June 20, 2012 Thats funny, I thought about baby moons also but I didn't have any.
