Enzoenvy1 Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Well, this Ferrari started life as one kit back in November, but it ended up being part of 3 kits over the last 8 months. I can proudly say that as of today, it is finally finished for good. I hated way too much of this build, but when I look at it now, it looks fantastic. Here is what I did: 1. Fujimi F430 Challenge kit 2. Crazy Modeller Photo etch set 3. Tamiya - Enzo turn signals 4. Tamiya - Racing white paint - prepped to 12,000 5. Final wax 6. Stripped and painted wheels semi-gloss black - widened wheels by .05 7. SMS Carbon for the engine bay 8. SMS Photo etch seat belts 9. E-Jan Emblems for the Ferrari badges 10. All vents cut out for photo etch pieces 11. SMS Faux Fabric used on interior pieces 12. Tamiya tape used for rollbar padding 13. Lots of TLC I hope you all enjoy the finished product!
Enzoenvy1 Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 Hope you all like it! As always, the WIP can be foun
MikeBoyle Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 WOW! I'm not that big of a fan of exotic cars, but this is perfect. I especially like the fact it isn't red!
Zoom Zoom Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 That came out fantastic! There's nothing better than a white Ferrari, unless perhaps a white Porsche GT2 or GT3 Gives me a great idea how mine will look; I saw a white unmarked 360 Challenge when they were new, really wanted to build a model of it, and had started my F430 Challenge car early last summer when the kit came out to look basically just like the 1:1 car you showed a photo of on A/F. I got sidetracked w/other projects and my car is still in a box in white primer . I also want to make the air jacks so I can show the car up on air jacks, but I also want the jacks to store in the down position as well.
ismaelg Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Congratulations on a job well done!! I love this build! Seeing all you went thru, it is even more inspiring. I'm glad you kept going at it until you win. Regards,
LT Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Great job. That looks very unassuming in white but also very striking at the same time. Lots of nice added touches.
kelson Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 quality build,! like it in white ,usually only see red one"s excellent.
BFassassin Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 (edited) Fantastic looking car. id love to be able to build models like that. BTW whats the fujimi kit like to build? I have only ever used italeri and Airfix kits before. Would be really interested in doing an F430 Edited October 19, 2007 by BFassassin
BFassassin Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 Sorry for posting again straight after myself but I have found the kit for the F430 but not the photoetch kit. Can you point in the right direction as to where you got yours? Thanks a million

Can you point in the right direction as to where you got yours? Thanks a million I am strictly a Tamiya builder, but I can honestly say that the Fujimi was a nice build. Make sure that the one you get a hold of is a Challenge. If you have that, then here is where I got the PE set for it. Awesome set and well worth the money! http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/product_inf...products_id=756

I also just ordered the PE kit from stradasports so once i get them i will be able to start then. I would like to paint it in silverstone silver so i will have to find a paint thats similar. I will definately look back on this thread for inspiration
