This represents the third place car of Raul Bosel, The Dominos Pizza Hot One. Al Unser Jr. all most won the race when on the 199th lap of 200, I believe, Emerison Fittipaulti passed him in the third turn going down on the grass (a no no today), then crashing Little Al. In my opinion , Bosel would have been declaired the winner by today's rules , even though he was in third down a lap because, Emerison would have been penalised one lap. My Wife and I witnessed the race from the third turn grandstand where the action between Little Al and Emerison could be seen first hand. Model is box stock with engine wires. The three tone paint is not an easy one with the contours. I built it for a red, white and blue theme. I think these AMT Indy kit are often over looked and easy to find at swap meets for as little as $5. It was a fun build for me. Thanks for looking.008-2.jpg001.jpg009-2.jpg007-3.jpg

Nice job on a less than stellar kit. I've built a couple and they do NOT just fall together. Nice weathering, is it carbon fiber decals on the bottom?

I got the carbon fiber look by spraying second shade through an orange net bag. Thanks.

Tht's pretty cool. Reminds me of the 'Noid commercials from Domino's back in the day too lol. But yeah nice build looks great. And I like the Cosworth power

It's nice to see a model that's a little out of the ordinary "Under Glass!" :D

......Thanks Harry, I really didn't think any one would even look at this one when I posted due to the unpopularity of Indy car right now. The last one I purchased was $1 at a swap meet, the Cummins March 86c. When AMT released these kits at a model car show in Indy I bought them all with plans to build a diorama. This was in 1989. So far I have built two. LOL Edited by rmvw guy

I recently picked up two Monogram Indy cars of about the same vintage a they were very cheap. I had built one when they were fairly new and I wanted another crack at one.

.Which ones did you get?...I think the Monogram kits were 1/24 scale. I built the STP car and my son built the Raynord Garage Door car and I think I still have the Valvoline car . It was fun watching him build his, it was red and silver with no sponsors. At the end he said, "Here Dad you can have the decals." I offered to apply them for him but, he said, "That's alright you can have them." I miss those days. -_-
