charlie8575 Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Nice, Jeff. Got a price yet? The maroon top many Hudson convertibles had was a very distinctive feature. Black and tan were also seen somewhat regularly. Charlie Larkin
paul alflen Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 NICE JOB JEFF B. BRING SOME TO THE MEETING ON THE 13TH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cooltoys1 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Would it be safe to say that the original top material was what we call a "Hartz" top? Almost like a suede type?
Bill J Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 I am interested in one or two. Please keep me posted when you are ready to sell the tops. Thanks!
charlie8575 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Would it be safe to say that the original top material was what we call a "Hartz" top? Almost like a suede type? Correct. Most American convertibles up until the early-mid 1950s used Haartz (with two "a"s) canvas. I believe the canvas top option on the present-production Chrysler 200 (in place of the vinyl) is also made by Haartz. Charlie Larkin
Chuck Most Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Very interested in this... and love how low the mockup car sits.
mr46ford Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I am also interested in this up top I would take two. Are they available yet? How much?
jeffb Posted October 9, 2012 Author Posted October 9, 2012 had it all molded. then got a kit. they made changes in the windshield header so the top dosent the production kit. ive remastered it and should have it ready very soon

jeffb Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 take two..the original master was suplied by bill coulter. i finessed it to fit the vert test shot i had . after selling a couple, turns out they changed the tooling after i received the test shot. now it fits the production kit.
mrknowetall Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Got a link I can order it through? Gotta have one!
Bill J Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Anyone making a convertible top to fit the Moebius Hudson convertible? I would love to build mine with a nice top that sets off the color of the car. Please let me know how to grab one, if one is made. Thank you in advance.
john sharisky Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Jeff Ballard of Motor City Resin Casters is offering a Hudson up-top. John
Bill J Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Wow, that looks really good. Thanks guys, I really appreciate the information, I will get one ordered ASAP
Chuck Most Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Jeff Ballard at Motor City Resin Casters was working on one if I recall, but I'm not sure on its status other than it isn't yet listed on his website.
jeffb Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 i got it! thought we put it on the website, but we musta forgot to.
Art Anderson Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 i got it! thought we put it on the website, but we musta forgot to. Vince, I have one of Jeff's Hudson up-tops for the Hudson convertible! What can I say about it except that it's one of the most perfect resin pieces I have ever seen (and I've seen lots of resin, even made a lot of resin parts). Be sure to catch up with Jeff at NNLE and snag that convertible up top--you will NOT be disappointed. Art
Bill J Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I second that! Jeff's up-top is perfect in every way. makes a great addition to the nifty Moebius Hudson convertible.
Kris Morgan Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Jeffs up top may be nice. However his bottom is questionable.
