JamesW Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Better question: At what temperature do our brains begin to soften? I believe that has ALREADY happened. I mean, we ARE addicted to plastic. LOL

Roncla Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 We are currently in the middle of Winter and I would enjoy a bit of heat. During a walk to the shops on Tuesday I ended up getting drenched in a torrential downpour.
tabsscale1 Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 The real question (and I hope this doesn't happen in our life time) is what is going to happen when the temps start reaching 125 or so. At what temperature does styrene begin to soften? Obviously, this is the least of our concerns if that happened. I work in a place that gets to 140 while wearing a respirator so 105 outside feels laike a cool day. By the way 140 and no fans or outside breezes are allowed in the plant. As mater fact all doors have to be kept shut.
CorvairJim Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 We are currently in the middle of Winter and I would enjoy a bit of heat. During a walk to the shops on Tuesday I ended up getting drenched in a torrential downpour. So Ron: What is it with you Kiwis? You have your seasons all mixed up, you drive on the wrong side of the road, then the Aussies decide to follow your example! (Tsk, tsk... ) Anyhow, my window A/C unit crapped out at the end of last summer and I haven't been able to afford to replace it yet. I have 4 or 5 CBP's that have been on hold for a couple of weeks now. Tomorrow, they're forcasting temps possibly as high as 110 here in the Philly area, depending on which news outlet you pay attention to. 110 would shatter the ALL-TIME HIGH TEMPERATURE for Philadelphia since they started keeping records on such things in the 1870's by FOUR DEGREES!
Dr. Cranky Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 Where the heck do you work, Todd? Or are you not allowed to say.
tabsscale1 Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Where the heck do you work, Todd? Or are you not allowed to say. Work for Exide Technologies making car batteries sot the world can go around!
tabsscale1 Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Work for Exide Technologies making car batteries sot the world can go around! Bad thing about it in the winter it usually is between 30 and 50 in the plant. They have to circulatethe air to keep the lead in the air down so the fresh air we do get comes straight from the roof and it runs in the 100's in the summer and that air feels cool when we can be around it.
Aaronw Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 It has actually been below normal here. It can go as high as 113F but we've only gone over 100 a couple of days this year and most days have been the high 80s to mid 90s. We even had a week of 60-70s in June. If this is part of climate change I say bring it on.
Danno Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Work for Exide Technologies making car batteries sot the world can go around! Todd! You ever slip down to Brookville for the fried chicken (is it even still there)? How 'bout the Cozy? Is it still running?
Dr. Cranky Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 Danno, how cool is it in your room? Is this why Gregg is always sending you there? LOL.
