Red rocket 10 Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Hey guys it's been a while since I've built something, so here we go . I started with a 1/16th scale RC car , the body needed a lot of modifications ,for starters it was too wide so I had to narrowed it and remove the windows. I just got started on the chassis and soon the engine and trans . I've got along way to go so wish me luck. This is all I've got for now, stay tuned. Thanks, Leonard
comp1839 Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 looks like an incredible start, leonard! if this turns out anything like the '57, we're in for a real treat!!!!!
futurattraction Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 That looks like a fantastic start! I love these big builds because guys can add so much more detail to them. I'll be watching!...

Mister Twister Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Very nice start...Glad to see someone building a sportsman car and not a pro mod for a change. Keep at it!
Red rocket 10 Posted July 11, 2012 Author Posted July 11, 2012 Thanks guys I'm inspired by all of you............
mikey Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Great start. What kind of engine are you going to put in it.
Red rocket 10 Posted July 11, 2012 Author Posted July 11, 2012 Hey Mike I'm thinking about scratch building a big block with fuel injectiion . I'm waiting for supplys .
signguy2108 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Nice project! Nice change of pace from the promods. Something a sportsman racer can relate to!
Red rocket 10 Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 What's up guy's I've been working on a few things, I modified an old hood scoop I had lying around ,It was air intake off of a P51 Mustang . It still needs final tweaking.
comp1839 Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 great looking scoop, leonard!!!!! i can't wait to see the progress on this build. if you need some reference shots some fuel injection. i have some pics of a musi 903 cube motor with fuel injection. keep up the killer work, my friend!
tyrone Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Great Job on the scoop Leonard.... I'm locked in on this one....
pharr7226 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Awesome work Leonard. Did you lower the lip on the front wheel opening? Based on the cut down the center of the body, it looks like you removed some material. Did you narrow the body? If so, by how much? The chassis and the scoop look great. I'll watch this one closely.
futurattraction Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Cool! A Mustang scoop on a Camaro! LOL The scoop looks like it's shaping up well... It's neat to see something a bit different like it.
Red rocket 10 Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 Thanks Guy's I'm trying , Rick I did narrow the body about 4mm, the fenders where cut and moved down, it was a bear. Hey Dave send me those pictures Leonard
Prostreet Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Nice scratch building Leonard. Really like the way it looks.
