Bluemiles22 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 This is my first work in progress on this forum so here we go. This is the 49 merc from revell. This build will be plain box stock because I'm trying to concentrate on painting and prepping better. So far the body has been painted. I got some pearl ex in the mail last week and was just dying to use it lol. The base coat was a mix of flamingo pink and lavender pearl ex, wet sanded and polished, and then shot with true blue pearl ex. All of it was mixed into testors clear top coat. Thanks for looking guys enjoy
cobraman Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Hey Rich, that looks very nice. I built two of those and they go together great. Only know problem that someone here told me and it was true is that the battery needs to have the bottom trimmed in order for the body to fit over the chassis when the engine is installed. I think Mr. Cranky told me this.
Bluemiles22 Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 Thank you. Yea the body does have a slight fit problem, this is the second one of these I built. Thanks for the heads up I will definitely give the battery thing a try.
Bluemiles22 Posted July 24, 2012 Author Posted July 24, 2012 Here are a few pics of the finished engine and one of the finished dash.
Bluemiles22 Posted July 29, 2012 Author Posted July 29, 2012 Just a couple of quick shot of the frame with the engine installed. Should have a few of the finished interior coming up soon. Thanks for looking.
