crazyjim Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 This is my latest build. HOK euro red with some Pearl Ex russet added to a clear coat and then 2 part urethane clear over everything.
Scuderia Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Nice interior detail, very well thought out. Motor looks tough too, whole thing looks ready to go actually lol. I like the way it sits. Not too flashy, and not too utilitarian either.
crazyjim Posted July 25, 2012 Author Posted July 25, 2012 Thanks Lawrence. I forgot to plug in the trailer hitch. Just a street truck.
TooOld Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Sharp looking truck ! Beautiful paint and the stance is just right . I like the license plate , but can't make out the grille emblem . Got a close up ?
crazyjim Posted July 25, 2012 Author Posted July 25, 2012 Thank you, Bob. I painted the grille emblem to represent the Vietnam Service Ribbon. I put the ribbon on every one of my builds - usually a license plate. I've done the Vietnam Service Ribbon on several 1:1 vehicle emblems around here with vinyl tape.
rmvw guy Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Nice job! I like the stance, the paint, engine detail and interior, does that cover everything? I always love your garage scene also!
crazyjim Posted July 26, 2012 Author Posted July 26, 2012 Thanks, Ron. Appreciate it. I plans to build a better garage scene one day - hopefully soon.
slusher Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Great looking truck, nice interior, very nice building..
crazyjim Posted July 26, 2012 Author Posted July 26, 2012 Thanks Ray. It's a very nice kit to work with.
Joker Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Love the Veteran tribute on all your builds. May they never be forgotten. Bless you and them. Shiny build BTW.
crazyjim Posted July 26, 2012 Author Posted July 26, 2012 Thank you, Joker. And thank you again. As long as I'm alive, Veterans will not be forgotten. If you're down this way, a group I belong to, Vietram Veterans Gathering, will be holing its' 10th Gathering September 27 - October 1, 2012 at Bicentennial Park in Crystal River. The park is right next to the Citrus County Fallen Heroes Monument. We'll be bringing in a 3/5 scale version of The Wall and also the Moving Tribute. Here's our website. http://vvg9.wordpress.com/
Jared Roach Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Hey man awesome build! I like how it's a mild custom. looks great. I like how all your builds have the veteran theme to them, keep up the great work.
crazyjim Posted July 28, 2012 Author Posted July 28, 2012 Thanks Jared. About I all I did to this build was roll the rear pan. I was thinking of filling in the stock taillights and putting them in the pan, but thought would be more than a "normal" street truck would have. For too long a time it wasn't popular to be a Veteran. I'm very happy things changed.
JunkPile Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Most 20 something year old GM pick-ups are beginning to show signs of rust. I detect none on yours. Nice :)
crazyjim Posted July 28, 2012 Author Posted July 28, 2012 Thanks Chuck. It could be 100 years old and it wouldn't matter. I don't do rust. SHINY :) RULES!
