Jim N Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I just completed this one. It’s Revell’s Audi R8. It’s built box stock and I painted it Dupli Color Maple Metallic. I liked the way the paint turned out that I could not bring myself to try and paint the area behind the door black. I think this is the first kit I’ve built that was molded in Poland. Thanks for looking.
cobraman Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I never really cared for the black panel on theses cars. This looks much better IMO.
Volvoman Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Absolutely love these cars and you have done a great job on yours. I personally do like the 'blades' behind the doors to be a different colour but full credit to you on yours and I do agree that the colour is beautiful. I have the R8 and the R8 spyder to build, I may be temped to start mine now!!
Jim N Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 Thanks for the comments everyone. I was going to paint the panels behind the doors, but the paint turned out so well (a rare event for me) that I did not want to chance screwing it all up. So I chickened out.
vwdave92 Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 body color matching the "blades" behind the doors is very popular with these cars. Most others are aluminum or carbon fiber. I've seen it done all three ways and all look good. Nice build up!
