Junkman Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) This is a very well kept secret, it doesn't appear anywhere on the Welly website! Obviously, it is available and shipping right now. It consitutes yet another huge win of the diecast boys over the backward dimwits of the kit industry. This iconic van has been loooong awaited by European modellers for decades! Seeing that I now can do all the conversions I had in mind waiting for a kit, I ordered six of them! Yes, kit manufacturers, eat your heart out! Six, and all paid for with money you will never see! Foxer Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 That's really cool. I'd expect more than a few might make the trans-Atlantic flight!
Junkman Posted August 14, 2012 Author Posted August 14, 2012 If you find them difficult to obtain in America, you can order them from Model Car world in Germany: http://www.modelcarworld.de/relaunch/shopartic.php?f=NR&c=182684&userid=3699890&language=uk Stay patient, I bet a plethora of liveried examples will follow. This model will also appeal to many who are not particularily into models. It is safe to assume that a lot of them will be produced for companies on commission.
jeffs396 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Cool Christian! I hope you have a nasty street machine version planned for one!
Chillyb1 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 This iconic van has been loooong awaited by European modellers.... And at least one from the United States. I won't buy this version but would buy a dozen plastic ones if Tamiya would put one out. Yes, both iconic and historically significant in Europe, but almost unknown on these shores. I know a guy in Portland, Oregon, who has one that was once a Citroen garage utility van (he was, once upon a time, the Citroen mechanic in the Los Angeles area and then later in Oregon). It is in the blue and yellow Citroen livery.
Maindrian Pace Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Citroen mechanics were never bored. -MJS
Rob Hall Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Neat...I wouldn't mind one to go w/ the Tamiya and Revell 2CVs......I'd love to see 1:24th kits or diecast of the SM and DS.
Chuck Most Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Didn't even know I wanted one of these until I saw it!
blubaja Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Thanks for the info!! I love me some delivery vehicles!
