Except for a little tweaking and toning down of all the chrome, this one is done. I really love this kit, but my recommendation is to test fit everything while in the raw styrene, this way you get no surprises in the end.

Enjoy:

Doc I love your work on the interior with the license plates and covering those hinge holes on the firewall. I'm assuming that they are all decals... am I right..??? The ones on the firewall... did you mount them on tin foil first and then glue them to the firewall...???

Nice! But pretty restrained for Cranky, isn't it? Geez, it's almost subtle!

I am happy you noticed that, Harry. It's exactly what I wanted to do, restrain myself. I even pages through my book of decals looking for something cool in terms of graphics and decided against it. It looks all right in turquoise.

That's my story and I am sticking to it. LOL

Rich, no they are not decals. I got a wall of plates through Google Image and shrunk them down to size. With interiors like this all you want is for the eye to catch the detail and move on. If you wanted to go the extra mile, you could in fact cut out all the different decals you might have in your collection and add them one at a time. I think that would look great too, and a bit more realistic.

On the money ! Color fits the subject perfectly . An Aztec Queen , weathered and worn , still regal , yet a bit time worn .

Put the rusty ruffles away , Virg ! Time to break out that shiny blue sequined party dress ! Lol !

I just watched the video on youtube. Looks to me like the rear wheels are too far forward, they're not centered in the fender wheel openings. I know that's not your fault, it seems like a flaw in the model itself. Anyone else think the rear wheels sit too far forward or am I seeing things?

I loves it too,Brother! REALLY has the right look,just enough of everythig (detailing,weathering,lowering,horsepower,period correctness,etc),NICELY done,my friend,nicely done :)

Harry, yeah,I noticed that too,was actually making mental notes on looking for ways to fix that,I'll be building that kit (for a cbp elsewhere) over the next several months. Dr Cranky,is that something you notice as you're building it up,or not until it's too late? I ask cause I tend to forget things (I have a Doctor's excuse for memory though,LOL...no,really!). Seeing yours and watching it come together REALLY makes me anxious to get mine done but I can't start it until 9-1-12,LOL! :P

(barign in mind I only found the build thread today, but I read through it ;) )

It's hard to tell with the 3/4 shots. The third pic down the rear wheels look pretty centered but the rest of the pics they look too far forward? Great looking build BTW Doc. Which kit was the basis? To me the grill and headlight bezels are just a bit too shiny for the rest of the car.

Well, I like all of Cranky's work, restrained and over the top!

I totally agree with ya Harry!!!!!!!!!!!! Sweet build Doc!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you noticed that too, Harry. Yes, there's something weird with this part of the kit. The tires fit nicely in the wells, but THEY ARE too much forward. Then again, I am using the wheels from the STANDARD COUPE kit, not that ones that came with the 40 Coupe.

I noticed it from the first mock up, but I knew it wasn't my doing, it's the way the body and interior tub sit on the chassis.

Thanks, everyone. Jim, it's that kind of a kit, it goes together very well, for the most part. The interior takes a little bit of extra care to slip it in, but it fits like a glove once you insert it pass the body edges.
