this copy was on e bay last year, looks pretty kool in candy apple red.

I picked this one up this past weekend , it’s old but I can’t see a date anywhere

That is a First or Second Issue kit. The Original.

Original 1962 issue.

Check the decal sheet, David - sometimes they have a print date on the back.

The kit was opened , but things were in plastic . There was two sets of decals , one obviously newer , both I could find no date . Not on the box and not on the instructions ( the paper smells old , looks old ) .

The original from 1962 has the green & white box. The second issue (1965) has the blue box. The third issue came out in 1968 with a red Mod Rod on the box top. The final issue with the original Ala Kart still intact was in 1970, with a yellow fenderless Mod Rod on the boxtop.
