I was hoping you could reveal how you did that great looking sliding ragtop?

Well, there's actually nothing special. First I opened the hood and used polystyrene to fix the hole. The ragtop itself is a piece of fabric. I just cutted piece of it, then I folded sides. I used iron to get those sharp edges. After that I folded it to "open". I used again iron to press it flat. I also added some glue to it so it stays in that form.

Unfortunately there is no actual build up topic.

Wow, that does sound pretty easy. A lot easier then I would of thought. I wanted to do it to my 32 but wasn't sure exactly how I was going to go about it. Thanks for all the information, I can't wait to try it out. I was thinking of making mine open and close, did you glue it or is it working?

Outstanding VW! All these details rocks.

With... bare metal foil! After I laid down the foil, I sanded it with fine paper. After that I washed it with very very very thin black. It "turns the shine off nicely. I think it's more realistic that way.

<- that was my question, how you did it. P-e-r-f-e-c-t!
