After opening the doors, I needed to work up some sort of door jambs. It looks rather simple in these pictures, but I think it will be effective when it's all painted up.

I also started on the trunk hinges. This is my first brass and solder foray when it comes to models, as little as it is!

Oh my this is looking great Art. You are a true ARTist and glad to see you doing something a bit different. Injectors will look great sticking up out of the flat hood. Serious fabrication and I'm in for the long haul.

Something coming up in April?

Art... even if it isn't finished for the DSC in April, you need to bring it...lol ;) but would be awesome if you did complete it. I am still shooting on getting my Funny Car done by then... Actually I would love to have it done for NNL West :D .

I seriously think Art has a better chance Chris and I wish you the best of luck. :D

In reality, I would love to see them both completed and in person.

Just stumbled across this one Art. Good to see you opening the panels. The detail gods are sucking you in :)

The trunk hinges are looking great. Bonus points for using the brass flat strip.

Um, yeah, me too... On both counts ;)

Oh man, that is the truth. I probably would have been done by now if I had just left it stock, but I think I'll appreciate it in the end.

Thanks for looking, Alyn!

Truly amazing work so far, Art!

I look forward to progress on this one... I'm especially interested in what you'll be doing with those flame masks ;)

Trust me I am going to try my hardest and build my butt off so I can have the funny car finished at the DSC ;) I need to finish it so I can start other builds ...

Thanks for looking in, Matija! I'm still thinking about how I'm going to paint the body, but I am looking forward to trying the masks.

I really appreciate all the great comments, guys.

I think you can do it, Chris!

I finished the trunk fab work, so it's just about time to start painting this thing up and getting to building.

I saw a reference of a Willy's that had trunk bracing and some upholstery padding in between and I liked the look, so I thought I would try to duplicate it.
