Terry Sumner Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 What the title says... If not, are there resin parts available to make one?
martinfan5 Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 No model, I doubt there is a resin, but I could be wrong
roadhawg Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 No. Theres a guy on Freds forum, "Tom In GA" or something like that, that builds them using the Revell ASA chassis. Seems like he did a tutorial somewhere on building one. Awesome cars for sure!
rel14 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 (edited) NO, sorry no models and i have yet to find a resin kit,, if ya find one, please let me know... Thanks Correction,,, Try TJ's custom castings he makes two differ ones 20 and 25 Edited October 4, 2012 by rel14
Terry Sumner Posted September 18, 2012 Author Posted September 18, 2012 Dang...too bad. I recently got back into circle track racing this summer and fell back in love with the modifieds. My son TJ and I are on the pit crew for a friend's Super X car he races on Wed nights and we've been having a blast! So much that we may be building a car for that class for next year!
Hondo Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 This guy is pretty good with modified builds, but no kits that I know of for current modifieds. http://z8.invisionfree.com/Scale_Racing_Lobby/index.php?showtopic=7733
randx0 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 (edited) I am not an expert on these modifieds but perhaps there is some stuff you can use here www.dirtmodeler.com look at the online store and go ahead and read through the how tos lots of good info. Edited September 20, 2012 by randx0
roadhawg Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 This guy is pretty good with modified builds, but no kits that I know of for current modifieds. http://z8.invisionfr...?showtopic=7733 That's the same guy I was talking about. His name is Tom, and he knows almost everything about those cars. He did a tutorial somewhere on building one, or maybe it was a W.I.P......using the Revell ASA chassis as a starting point.
bbowser Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I too love the mods. Half the weight and twice the tire of a Cup car. They have to put restrictor plates on them at New Hampshire! They fly.
Terry Sumner Posted September 20, 2012 Author Posted September 20, 2012 Yeah..the restrictor plates are on the Light Modifieds.....
hooterville75 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 If memory serves me correctly, I believe a kid that I used to race karts against is now racing these Whelen Modifieds. His name is Ronnie Silk and used to live in CT. Where I'm from most people consider modifieds Dox Boxes as I live in the Sprint car racing mecca of the world lol. Central Pennsylvania. I myself am personally a fan of the Modifieds as they are a very competitive series of auto racing and always have a ton of cars. I'm a big fan of Brett Hearn
rel14 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Ok, TJ's custom castings makes a open wheel modififed body, they are 20 and 25 ea,,,,
DrKerry Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 That's the same guy I was talking about. His name is Tom, and he knows almost everything about those cars. He did a tutorial somewhere on building one, or maybe it was a W.I.P......using the Revell ASA chassis as a starting point. Nice build!!!
