935k3 Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 (edited) I just got the Paasche Talon TG-3F set which is the airbrush with all three tips and needle sizes and an adjustuble fan spray tip. This airbrush is a beauty to look at and use and the handle has a pre-set to set how far you can pull back when you want a constant pattern. it also has a bigger cup than most gravity feed types. I have an Iawata Eclipse but it may not get used as much now. For any one thinking about getting a dual action airbrush take a good look at this one. Below is pic of the airbrush. crazyjim Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Pretty. Enjoy and post something you've painted with it.
Monty Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Just out of curiosity, what made you choose this airbrush over all the other dual-actions out there? (Again, not arguing with your choice, just curious).

(Again, not arguing with your choice, just curious). Price, larger cup, availability of parts and the price of those parts vs the price of parts for my Iawata. And it looks great. It had good reviews and I wanted to buy something American made. I am more than happy with the choice I made. I wanted the preset handle also. I have had 3 other Paasches, the H,VL and VLST-PRO. This is the best airbrush Paasche makes. It also does not have the stuck needle problems I had with the other Paasches I have had.

If you like it better than a VL, I'd say you've found a great airbrush. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

I think the VL is a ver nice airbrush but I did not like the limited trigger travel which I beleive Paasche adressed with the VLST-PRO which has a much wider range like Badger's Crescendo which I still have. The Crescendo is a good all around workhorse.

The Crescendo is a good all around workhorse. I agree. The VL was my first 'brush and I thought it could really blow some paint....then I bought a Crescendo. I remember thinking it was like going from a Holley 600 cfm carb to a 750 Double Pumper. I seem to like the fat-body 'brushes better, so I probably won't be buying anything new for awhile, but your new one sure looks enticing.
Tom Setzer Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 I got a new Talon TG3F Last year for Christmas and I found it to be a MUCH BETTER AIRBRUSH THAN THE IWATA THAT I OWN. and it is MADE IN THE U.S.A. Paasche makes everything for their Airbrushes in the U.S.A. meaning American jobs, and everything they make is to highest standards!
935k3 Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 (edited) Here is some wheels I painted today. Gold is decanted Tamiya TS21 Gold and then masked thent TS14 Black base and finished with Spaztix Mirror chrome. These were white plastic. Edited September 21, 2012 by 935k3

XJ6 Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 That is most a very Nice Loooking "Airbrush"....with the Engraving and Gold .....Heck may just have to get one and Hang it on my wall... Cheers to all......Don aka XJ6
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Thanks for the heads up on this airbrush. I've been looking at upgrading from my POS antique el-cheapo Chinee siphon feed (which will do a nice job, but is a kinda finicky PITA to use). Your wheels look wonderful.
935k3 Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 (edited) The more I use this airbrush the more I like it. I do like it better than my Iawata. BTW Iawata is made in Japan not Oregon. I believe Tamiya's airbrushes are made by Iawata. I testsed the fan spray with water and it works great I just have not need it yet. I would bet it probably needs a little more air pressure than the regular tips. The large cup is really nice. I can spray a little paint right from a spray can in it and spray away. This is the best airbrush Paasche has ever made. One tip for anybody getting one is the seal the needle passes through is adjustable and mine was a little tight but after polishing the needles it worked great. Edited October 11, 2012 by 935k3
