You just reminded me of The Lovely Mrs. Snake's standard answer to any question about why anyone or any origanization, institution, etc., did anything I don't consider to be optimal, logical, or just generally good:

Geez, my wife uses that too. Now I use it. 
 

Is the GTX suffering the same problem? I’ve never seen comments that I recall. Funny how some kits rarely seen built, or commented on. I didn’t search because current discussion sry.
