ChevyCoupe41 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 My latest finished model. I took over 1 year to finish it. Body is made by Airtrax but it has some modifications. Chassis and engine is from Revell '55 Chevy Pro Sportsman and the interior is mostly from my parts box. It has so much modifications so if have some questions , feel the free and ask. Here's pics of finished Simca. And one pic of the interior. Thank's for looking!
72 Charger Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Thats super cool is the simca based on a 57 chevy ive never seen one before that engine looks like it would shake your fillings out great work matti Doobie
W-409 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Yep, it looks absolutely excellent! I like the color and paint job very much on this one. And the paint looks even better in person! The engine detail and overall parts fit etc. look very good to me, too. This is maybe the best one from your bench, I like it very much. Now I will get my Gasser Simca done and then our CBP is officially Finished. Just sprayed some clear coat on it , turned out pretty good.
TooOld Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Very cool ! The engine and chassis pic are great . Sure wish I could afford some of those Airfix bodies .
ChevyCoupe41 Posted October 9, 2012 Author Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) Ray: Thank you! David: Thanks! I'm not sure is Simca Vedette originally based on '57 Chevy but i think it's not. Dominik: Thanks! Yes these Simca Vedettes are very rare in now a days if you meant 1:1 cars. I've seen one 1:1 car in here finland and it was project so you are lucky if you see Vedette on good condition. Niko: Thanks! I think also that this is one of my best models what are finished on my bench. Cant Wait to see new pics of your Simca. It looks very good so far. Bob: Thanks! Edited October 9, 2012 by ChevyCoupe41
Badluck 13 Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Simca's are such cool lil' cars in the first place, and this build just goes to show how "Cool" they really could be....
ChevyCoupe41 Posted October 9, 2012 Author Posted October 9, 2012 Mike: Thanks! Well 1:1 Simca Vedette is not very small car but not very big also. I think it is much same size as A-body mopar but i'm not sure. monster: Thanks! I dont have latest list of Airtrax models but if you send email to Tapani you will know much more.
realgone58 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Cool! Profile really looks like '56 Plymouth. That may be where Simca got thier inspiration.
deathskull59 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 cool car it dose look a little like a 50s dodge/plymouth
Harry P. Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Well, we sure don't see a Simca around here very often! Nice work, very cool!
surfjunke Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 (edited) That is soooo cool! I have never heard of the car. It sure does make a cool & unique Pro Street Shoebox. Very nice build. Edited October 11, 2012 by surfjunke
ChevyCoupe41 Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 Thanks guys for those kind words! I think also that the body style is much same lookin than in '56 Plymouth. Today when I came home my sister said that i have received a letter. Well I looked it and it was from Toni L. (that is his nickname on this forum) Then i opened it and there was piece of material that i can do grille to Simca. I was very suprised for that. Now I know that I'm choosed good hobby because there is help on the way even if it is not actually ask. Here's updated pic of Simca and now it looks much better. Huge Thanks to Toni L.
W-409 Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Looks much better with the mesh (?) installed! Very cool. Not to highjack, but I guess our CBP is officially finished, since I finished my Simca too. There's little difference between the ride heights. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=65034
