W-409 Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 What Paint is that , on the frame? It looks excellent shade of brown/silver. Excellent work, as always, Tyrone! I'm tuned in for more to come, your builds always impress me. And this body style is maybe the nicest Nova.
tyrone Posted November 24, 2012 Author Posted November 24, 2012 Thanks Bill and Niko... the paint is testors metalizer.. titanium paint for air brushes.....
pharr7226 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 The new coils, metalizer, and carbon fiber look great.
tyrone Posted November 25, 2012 Author Posted November 25, 2012 Thanks Rick.... I got some clear on the chassis... and I also started making a new hood..I'm thingking I'm gonna go with the scoop...I shot a coat of primer on to see how the rear quarters are coming, just a little more work to do to them.... more to come
gasser59 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Looks killer in primer Tyrone. Can't wait for your next installment. Have you decided on a color?
tyrone Posted November 25, 2012 Author Posted November 25, 2012 Thanks Brad... I not decided on a color yet.. but I was thinking of a nice red paint job.. any ideas from any of you guys ??...
gasser59 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 A bright red would be awesome but so would any of the bright primary colors.
W-409 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Red, Blue and Orange are very good colors for this body style of Nova. Yellow isn't bad either, like this Finnish Nova. Anyways I painted mine orange: Yours look Very nice in Primer! Can't wait for more.
tyrone Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Thanks fellas, and NIko thanks for the pics.... I've started working on the engine... I got the distributor and wires done and have been doing a little painting... I've been giving this alclad thing a try again lately, and it seems to be going o.k. I used it on the headers, valve covers, pedals inside the car.. and the enigne ... I've also got the rack and pinion in, and I added bolt heads to the rear tubbs,, thanks for looking and comments welcome...
RAT-T Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 LOOKS MEAN TYRONE THE SHORTBED LOOKS NICE TOO
Action Jackson Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Killer work Tyrone. Here is ya a pic of a 66 that races at my local track. Looks similar to the one you are building. Might give ya some ideas? Sorry for the poor pic quality,it was the best I could do.
tyrone Posted December 2, 2012 Author Posted December 2, 2012 Thanks fellas... I got some plumbing done yesterday....
Mooneyzs Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Tyrone.... You work is always Impressive bud!! This looks great!
DrKerry Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Not to put a damper on it, have you tried the windshield with the hood on it yet? It looks like the rear of the scoop is to far into the glass opening. Just something I noticed. This is a awesome build!!!! Like where it is going, I'll be watching!!!!!
bytownshaker Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Tyrone You have a KILLER build in progress. One small thing I noticed is where you removed the wiper arms you should rescribe the cowl vent slots or fill them all in. Edgar
Pro Tech Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Tyrone, nice work buddy! your plumbing is always killer. Charlie Pro Tech
tyrone Posted December 9, 2012 Author Posted December 9, 2012 Thanks alot fellas.. I really appreciate the feedback... Kerry.. I still have a bit of work still to do with the hood scoop combo... I just stopped where I am with that until I get the front glass cut out and fitted, then I can make sure it sits flush against the windshield... I think I'm gonna end having to trim the opening a little more towards the front of the cowl hood area... Edgar.. you're right... Ive been debating on which way to go.. I think I'm gonna fill it in... Charlie.. thanks alot man.. you're products are what make these nitrous engines come to life..I love your demon carbs..and everything else too.. If you look closely I have your bolt head details.. all over here too...
DrKerry Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Ok, kool, I just didn't want to see ya paint it and then find out. Trust me it's no fun as I've done it before!!!! LOL
tyrone Posted December 10, 2012 Author Posted December 10, 2012 No sweat Kerry... Alright fellas.. I got some work done on this one today..
