martinfan5
For some reason I am on this kick, or push to get all the DOT cars done, so I am on my way to making that happen. I have four more to do , so I am working three of them at the moment. I still need to get the decal sheets for the #51 Exxon 46 City and Superflo scheme's , I will be using Powerslide decals for the Exxon and Superflo, winscals for the City Chevy decals, and kit decals for the Hardeez. I was already to start paint the City Chevy, but learned real fast that the florescent yellow was not going to even be close, so with not being able to find neon green and yellow, that lead me to placing an order for the correct colors from Model Car World Finishes, its not a cheap order either. So as of right now, I have three Luminas almost done, and they are going to be the Hardeez/superflo/city cars. I have one more Lumina kit one the way that was given to me by Futurabat (thank you) I am still trying to decide what color I want to use for the Hardeez car, in the movie it looks yellow, but everyone paints it orange So the bench looks the Hendrick Motorsports shop in the 90s now

Just watched it again on Directv the other day. Great movie. Anxious to see all the kits finished when your finished with all of them. bbowser
The movie didn't live up to the hype at the time, 'Top Gun' in racecars, but I love it anyway. Cars are looking good!
hooterville75
What Black did you use for the Dash and Bars on the roll cage ? Black looks really good.
martinfan5
What Black did you use for the Dash and Bars on the roll cage ? Black looks really good. For the dash, I used wal-marts color palace cheap flat black spray paint, and for the roll bar padding, model master flat black jar paint

Danno
Many good modelers underestimate their own builds. The crowds at GoodGuys enjoy a wide variety of models! The kids and NASCAR fans LOVE the Days of Thunder cars!

martinfan5
Thank you Bryan Body is decaled, so up next is to get the rest of the kit finished , I do know that the window net is red, but as you can see, I forgot about it when I painted it black, so I am going to have to fix that I thought I had other pics posted of the other cars, but I guess I just took them and never got them uploaded , or if I did, they seem to have gone away. I got most of Hardeez car decaled, and the City Chevy has been painted, and I started to use some of the kit decals, but have the winscals decal sheet on the way, so that justs leaves the Superflo , just need to get the pink paint Edited November 27, 2012 by martinfan5
