I meet Rutledge and had a photo taken with him, he was very nice in person, I loved Wind Tunnel, but not the retooled version, its ######, no more weekly emails, no weekly questions, it very vanilla now, and have the time Dave isnt even hosting, it was a much watch, now its a well lets see who is hosting this week . Oh well, I dont mind the filler stuff, but its ok for ESPN to have hour after hour of NFL or MLB or NBA filler shows ,but not for NASCAR ;)

Instead of the filler stuff I'd rather them show more hours of racing....more DTM, WTCC, WRC, V8 Supercars, etc. Speed isn't an all-NASCAR channel, at least it's not billed that way.

I know and agree, but there are few things to remember about the soon to be Speed no more, one, its studios and production offices are located in the heart of NASCAR country, two, NASCAR money is what pays a good chunk of the bills. I too would love to see more of the series that you mention, but the sad truth is there is very little advert money for those series

Beautiful new track fitting for F1. It was a great race with, gasp, PASSING!!!!!

Welcome back the pinnacle of motorsport to the US.

The new track ended up better than I expected. Eventually I'll bet that first corner becomes one of the most iconic in the sport.

As for speed becomeing an all sports network, that would really be a huge loss since that is one of the only channels I watch. Hope someone picks up the Monster Energy Supercross series.

This is the first I've caught up with this thread since I didn't get to view the race until last nite, didn't want to see who won prematurely ;) This has been a GREAT season!

I think this can be a new home for F1 in the USA. Austin has seemed to embrace the whole circus, sounds like there were lots of things going on throughout the city all week long prior to also.

Not quite the exciting track I was hoping for, but pretty cool. It's just not a circuit like Spa that actually "goes somewhere" in it's natural layout. Nothing beats the classic circuits!

Maybe we can have a MCM meet-n-greet at next year's event B)

Hosts for 2013 will be Hobbs, Matchett and Leigh Diffey

wow, Diffey is australian. he's certainly gone a long way!

Looks like pit stops and all kinds of different penalties make the end-result.

it's the bane of all motorsports, not just F1.

Not in Drag Racing ;) ! Penalties are really rare there, and there are no pit stops during the 1/4 mile track. :D

But you're right, it's the problem in many other motorsports, that's why I actually don't seem to follow them anymore. I used to watch Rally, but nowadays it's very boring, because there's only Ford and Citroen. Only way I like Rally is Finnish Historic Rallys and F-Cup. F-Cup is mostly MK2 Escorts, but it's nice to follow when there are lots of powerful rear wheel drive cars.

Anyway, I watched a bit of that Formula race too, those few highlights that were shown here in Finland for free channel. If you pay, you can get a channel where is possible to watch the whole race, but I'm not that interested on it. F1 is funniest in Monaco and if it rains.
