Blue coyote Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Just waiting to be invoiced for my personal Holy Grail of models. 1:16 Entex Cobra II. Two YEARS of patience and frustrated bidding later...
FujimiLover Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 (edited) Just sent in payment for this! Hopefully it wont' take too long to get it. Oh yea, my 1/43 Ebbro model of my car which I plan on repainting to match. Edited March 22, 2009 by FujimiLover
gasman Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 finally got Revell's 1957 150 today from the LHS, also got a MPC 79 Volare built up off Ebay that should be here this week
FujimiLover Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Finally been able to send payment in for these two kit's as well. These are coming to me by EMS delivery so hopefully I'll have these by Friday/Saturday! I have no clue about the first MR2 I posted, but at least I know these will arrive soon!
PatRedmond Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 THOSE are sweet, Fujimi! Also, I got a Black Widow Chevy 150 this week. Common Kit build for our Downriver MCC this year.
FujimiLover Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Now I've gotta find a silver suitable for the two Veilside kit's as it's probably very similar to what I'll need for my Insight.
FujimiLover Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Try Tamiya Silver Leaf TS-30. Thank you, I will look into that. What primer do you recommend for it? Probably white primer to make it brighter? I noticed gray primer darkens colors.
PatRedmond Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 I always use a WHITE PRIMER. Base primers are gray, but Tamiya White primer finish coat. Colors seem truer to the cap to me with this method.
FujimiLover Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Also in general white primer brightens the base-coat, and gray primer darkens it. So, I guess it depends on how you want the end result to be.
PatRedmond Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 ~Maybe~ on the gray. I come from a custom photofinishing lab background, and i've found gray primers are close to something we called 18% gray. That's a gray used in backdrops we used that would neither absorb nor repel (ie: alter) colors and density (light/darkness). 18% gray is a perfect balance in PHOTOGRAPHY, but with paints it seems to differ.....and I think that has to do with the density (micas/flakes of solids) suspended IN the paint.
Rick Schmidt Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Grabbed a few more the other day Got the new Revell 68 Can be built one of 3 ways. They don't advertise the fact that the Bullit Goodies are in there also From what I hear only thing ya need is the plates And a 65 Fastback Stock only looks to me like its just the old 64 Vert kit wth new wheels and a body
walt francis Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 My mailman dropped this off for me yesterday.... It was issued in 1976. I was 13 when it came out.... My, how time does fly.... I've got a few ideas of how I'd like to customize it, but I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna. I have had this since I was a kid and I have to do a restore on it one of these days
LVZ2881 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 (edited) I have gotten all these kits in the last month or so, most from trades and eBay, but the newer stuff from the LHS... 2 Black Widow's 2 Revell 68 Mustangs Revell Bullit 68 (free from a club raffle) Monogram 70 GTX Revell 68 Firebird Revell 70 Chevelle SS 2 Johan 70 Olds 442 MPC 69 Olds 442 Monogram 71 Satellite Revell 69 SuperBee AMT 65 Elky AMT 72 Chevy (2) AMT 63 Galaxie 2 Johan 71 Cuda Revell 67 GTX Revell 71 Hemi Cuda vert and several Fred Cady S/S decal sheets from ebay including the Stiles/Stahl 67 GTX, Royal Pontiac 68/69 Firebird and Chesrown Olds 442.. FujimiLover Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 So it starts off in "future projects", to here, to "on the bench" and hopefully ends up "under the glass"? Can we start a junk-pile thread for failed projects?
Custom Hearse Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 (edited) I have had this since I was a kid and I have to do a restore on it one of these days Cool Walt. I want to do some work on mine, but I need to finish a couple of projects I've got on the bench first. I'd like to see yours when you get it going. Enjoy! Edited March 23, 2009 by Custom Hearse
