Jared Roach Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Make sure you keep it clean or you'll be replacing the corners and rockers again. Don't worry I clean it every single day after it rains, I can't stand a dirty vehicle!
Guest Darkside Customs Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Picked up this little guy yesterday. Should make a nice 2-day build: That is too cool! I would love to find one of these...
Scuderia Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 (edited) I went to Michael's and used my coupon to get these two. The Monte was on clearance and the Shelby was like 23 or something. Edited June 16, 2012 by Scuderia
Kaleb Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Another flea market find on the two kits. $4.00 apiece
JunkPile Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Got a good local fishin' hole for them buzz-baits?
Lownslow Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 we had a meeting today and a friend gave me some wheels some awesome resin castin stuff i needed i think i have enough to step up to a body now
martinfan5 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Picked two more sets of the XS tunning wheels, got both of these for $12.50 , that includes shipping
BOSWELL891 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Was out of town last week and picked up these three kits at the lhs there.
Malard Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Just got my order in from spazstix a can of ultimate mirror chrome and the clear coat for it. Now to see if it was worth the $30 for both.
martinfan5 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Well I got over my irritation of Michaels, and went back and picked up the Revell Ferrari California kit, the clearance price was only a few dollars more then I could get a unsealed one on ebay
Scuderia Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Hey Jon I'm thinkin of doin this one next, when you unbox it can you fill me in on fit and design? And why do you have an irritation with Mikes?
martinfan5 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 My irritation was when I went to use the 50% off coupon, and I was going to buy this one, so after waiting in line I am told its on clearance and couldn't use the coupon, ok no biggie, what irritated me is the fact that the model section is a disaster and nothing is marked, it would of been nice to know which kits are on clearance or not.

I know 100% how u feel it was a minefield at my Mikes also. I had the register girl do a price check on the Shelby for me. Thankfully the price was chopped down well enough to still be a good buy for me. But some heads up would have been nice.
bandit1 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Gray07....i finally got the C.B and Antenna from you...thanks man!....now i have a project i can do....LET'S "HAM" IT UP!

Sounds more like careless people not putting the kit back where they got it off the shelf. Was at the local Michael's last week and the models looked like a tornado hit that section of the store, but found a '70 Chevelle to use my coupon on.

I wish it was that, the model section is a mess, not one single kit is where is should be, the kits are all sideways on the selves, you have to move them around to see what is all there
niteowl7710 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 The last time I went to our local Michael's they didn't have anything I wanted, even with a discount coupon, so I spent a half an hour re-organizing their model section just so I could see what they did have, and see what was on Clearance. Those shelves were a mess with planes, cars and diecast just looked like someone had a sea-sick stocking cart and it barfed all over the shelf.

James, I thought about doing that myself today while I was there, it needs it badly
niteowl7710 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 James, I thought about doing that myself today while I was there, it needs it badly I'd like to claim this is a once in a lifetime occurrence, but I can remember re-organizing the stock on the shelves at K-Mart, Toys R Us, and Children's Palace when I was younger (early teens). Maybe it's OCD or something, but if there are little stickers on the shelves with what is supposed to go into the slots, what's so hard about going through there once a day and keeping it straight. How can you possibly order correctly if you don't know what stock you have on hand? Albeit today I bet all inventory is computerized and they can tell when they actually sell out of something. Gotta say I've never gone into a wrecked model section at a Hobby Lobby.
Scuderia Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 In HS i did work at a Toys R Us and needless to say in the time I was there the kit section was immaculate during my shifts at least.

Its not just the models that are out of place, the paints were always all over the place on the rack, the paints are a lot better now, now they just need to work on the kits. I just dont think they care enough about them at the store thats near me, I am not speaking for all the stores of course

martinfan5 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Ditto at my store though Its one of the reason's I will go to Hobby Lobby instead of Michaels, even if I know Michaels has what I want. I would rather go to a LHS but thats a 25 min drive
