Jared, just curious...where are you located country-wise? I used to buy Tamiya Basic putty but it has been unavailable in the USA for some time. I've been getting it from vendors in Hong Kong most recently. I'm curious what the White Putty is, and if it's available stateside. Thanks in advance for any information.

Well, I'm in nova scotia, Canada. I have never used the basic putty before but I got it at my hobby store, they just got it in because I go there every week. Next time I go I can ask the manager, he knows my mom so it won't be that hard to find out. I think it's just white though, not sure but I think it works pretty good.

Thanks...I've never seen that kind of Tamiya Putty, and was curious what you thought of it. The "Basic" putty was gray and had aluminum flecks in it. I have no clue if they sell it here in the US, but I'll keep an eye out.

I have seen it in the states at our LHS, but I haven't tried it ever. I have always just used milliput.

I used to use Miliput, but switched to Magic Sculp which is very similar but I found it less "gooey" and easier to form closer to a finished shape prior to drying. I always liked to have the Basic Putty around for very small jobs that were a little unweildy with 2-part putty. I'm not that hopeful that the White Putty would be as useful, but I'm always up for trying something new just to check it out.

Tamiya doesn't make it habit of making anything bad. So it's probably good stuff.

I picked up the new MPC Daisy's Roadrunner, today. I'll be using it to build a custom XMODS race car.

Hmmm looking at James Dually I'm thinking a friend of mine lied sayin it was a promo.....

They were made as promos as well in NUMEROUS colors.

Revell 37 Ford Pick-up re-issue, MPC 86 El Camino repop, a whole poopload of Tamiya spraypaints, and a decent conversation with the counterperson/store clerk.

Hey Zuk........that Dodge Crew cab you got, is that a 1964-65 cab? If so, you just made my day and if they have a regular cab coming you just made my dads life! With that and some scratchbuilding, I can build a model of his 1968-71 trucks. Does the same caster have the beds as well? I'll have to copy and paste the link you show.

If your talking about the one I showed you, it is in fact a 1993 Promo and not a 1996 snap kit. ;)
