MLMDesign Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Here is a 1955 Corvette built for the Cannonball run contest. It's an AMT I built it as close to original as I could with it being a where were you in 62 theme I thought it'd be nice to do nice stock car, something that would have been normal for the time. So it wouldn't raise to much attention during the trip across country, that's the idea anyway. The color I choose is Nassau Blue it's Testers Model Master brand. It was the closest I could get to the factory Pennant Blue color. Other than having a ton of issues with the kit (par for the course with an amt model) there is not really much else to tell, it's just a straight up build and it's in this years cannonball run. Hope you guys like it. Mores pics on the way.
Space Cowboy Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Great looking Vette..Great detail.....................
A.R.C. Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 A very fine ride MLM. Nothings ever wrong with a classy old Vette.
W-409 Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Beautiful 'Vette. I like the paint job and color a lot. Nice detailing too, it is nice to see Corvettes in Cannonball Race, too since it's "The Only American's Authentic Sports Car". Good Job.
robertw Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 This model is a bit of a dog isn't it! The Monogram kit looks overscale and the AMT one has all kinds of fit issues from the separate tail light fins, thick windshield, front tire location etc. Good effort on a far from good kit.
