KingSix Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I want to remove 6 scale inches from a 1/25 scale model, what would that be and what's the formula ? anyone ?
KingSix Posted December 6, 2012 Author Posted December 6, 2012 Thank you !! I finally figured it out . .024, just shy of a 1/4 " sometimes I forget what I know , if that makes any sense
JollySipper Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Not meaning to undermind the above post, but if you remove 6 mm that's about 6 in. in scale....
sjordan2 Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Scale size, as noted, is .24 inches or .61 centimeters. I don't mess with my own calculations (because it makes my head hurt) and just go to the scale converter at the very bottom of this page, which I've bookmarked: http://www.scalemotorcars.com/forum/
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 (edited) Ummmmmm, ANY scale expressed as a fraction like 1/25 means the model is, for instance, ONE TWENTY-FIFTH the size of the real one. You simply divide by the denominator (in 1/25, the denominator is the number on the bottom........25) of WHATEVER scale you're working in. Never fails, always works. 6 inches divided by 25 = .24" as stated above. In 1/18 scale, 6 inches divided by 18 = .33333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333.................................... OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! george 53 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Just get yourself a 25th scale ruler an you'll never have to guess OR figure it out again!
