66 charger

I've been searching for a 66 charger kit w/o any luck,not even on ebay...

Does anyone make a resin body...

What you need is this older MPC kit of the 67 Charger.

Then get the Modelhaus 66 Charger conversion kit. It fits the MPC kit and I even mocked it up with the newer Revell 67 Charger kit and I may work with that kit too.

The 66/67 Chargers are my favorite muscle cars of all time, so I have really studied these two kits and have built them both.

The MPC kit is good and everything fits well however the trim, badges and name plates are VERY shallow and easy to lose under paint.

The Revell kit is nearly perfect in every way. There is some concern that the body line from the b-pillar back dips a bit, but it is very hard to detect.

Both kits are '67s, however (correct me if I'm wrong) the only exterior difference between '66 and '67 is the front top-of-fender turn indicators present on the '67. Sand them off and you have a '66. The rest is all interior differences. If the resin pieces fit the Revell kit (or can be made to), I recommend using it.

But like mentioned I think the only differences between the 1966 verses 1967 Chargers are the fender turn signal indicators and the interior center console . Isn't the seat and door patterns the same ?

Bill, I just checked, and yes, the 66 has small horizontal pleats, and the 67 has small VERTICLE pleats! Other than that and the fender mounted turn signals, they look the same!

The 66 Charger has a center console that goes all the way to the back seat and devides the rear seat into buckets. In 67 the center console was shortened and ended just behind the front seats. A separate armrest console was used in between the rear seats for 67.

Mike, Nascar stock cars of that era were REAL street cars just modified for raceing. You'd never need the stock interior as ALL of that area of the car was completely gutted to save weight.
