dirtracer2448 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 I started with the Revell sedan hot rod kit and cut the roof off and angled the windshield back. The engine and wheels are from a diecast viper and the seats are from the Revell camaro. This has been done for some time, this being the third model I have done. The work is not good but I liked the idea.
TooOld Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 I like the idea too and it looks pretty good !
Steven Zimmerman Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Whether the work is 'good' or not, the creativity factor is A+.Sometimes ya gotta jes get down n dirty, when the juices flow....If you think it could be improved, BUILD ANOTHER ONE, and clean up the areas you didn't approve of on the first one....'Z'
dirtracer2448 Posted December 17, 2012 Author Posted December 17, 2012 Thanks guys?I also planned on taking new pictures since these aren't that great. Z, I was thinking of rebuilding this one but I might build an additional.
philo426 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Looks good but it has to have headlights of some kind.
Lyle Willits Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 What you've "created" is called a phaeton.
dirtracer2448 Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 Looks good but it has to have headlights of some kind. Yea, they broke off. What you've "created" is called a phaeton. I did not know that, thank you.
Chuck Most Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 I'd say keep this one as is, then do a new-and-improved version later on. You could display them side by side to show how you've progressed as a modeler. Though I must say, you think the work you did on this isn't the best, but it's still a very sweet looking model if you ask me!
slusher Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Cool little build, the wheel look like vette wheels.
rmvw guy Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 (edited) I say put it on the shelf and build another. I have one from 50 years ago, a few details added with the airbrush as I progressed but, original finish, remains one of my favorites. A '32 Ford like yours is timeless, lots of parts available from other kits. Styles change so much on these but, I will admit, I've never seen one quite like yours. It looks like some newer Corvette parts. Maybe you are on to something. ....OK, Viper, you got me on that one, I had to look back. Edited December 18, 2012 by rmvw guy
