HNTR Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Seeing as though Erik Smith is quashing my motivation I am changing my kit to a Tamiya Toyota Celica GT-Four. I am really bummed cause I wanted a reason to build the Lincoln, and not spend more money on another kit. Watch out Erik yours is the first to get the tires slashed. LOL I just ordered my kit and will send pics of the new unopened kit. Nick, would you please change kit?? Thank you. Here is a pic of the new kit below.
Nick Winter Posted December 27, 2012 Author Posted December 27, 2012 Hi gentlemen I'd like to join in if I may. My entry will be a combination of these two kits: There must be zillions of modified Mustangs in the States, so I'm sure one more will go unnoticed by the boys in blue. As long as I don't have to drive across the Pacific to get there Cheers Paul I take it '65 with parts from the '98. And driving across the Pacific would be a real test of durability Nick, would you please change kit?? Thank you. Here is a pic of the new kit below. I can do that.

HNTR Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 feel free to send it out to me, ill build the lincoln for you sides, you wouldnt want to drive your pappa to drinkin I am actually going to build it as a second kit for this CB if I finish this one.
Erik Smith Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 I am actually going to build it as a second kit for this CB if I finish this one. Cover both bases! Handling and horse power - just in two cars! I would build two, too, but just finishing one will be my greatest challenge.
diymirage Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 you guys are starting to impress me maybe the 400 CUI V8 isnt quite up to the task ? i should see if i can come up with a more modern engine
Austin T Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 I don't know if my entry got missed or if I did something wrong so here it is again. I will be entering with a Fujimi Porsche 911 Flatnose. When I aquired the kit the previous owner slashed off the roof, but I think the damage is easily repairible. Here are some pics of it ,one has the roof just placed on the body.I might have a story with mine if I can think of one.
diymirage Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 i remember readin about that one so it musta been in there before
sdangers Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Hi again As documentation of the non stared kit, here are the promised photos of the box and content To follow my idea here´s a little story: The "Bandit" wants to do a comeback on the roads, so he call´s "Year one" getting them to put together a new car for him, which he can ues in the "2013 Cannonball run". He wants them to use the car from the first movie - the 77/78 Trans Am, but just putting it up to current standard. Now it will just be up to me getting the model there - will keep Ya all updated on the progress when ideas comes to mind - but one thing is for sure - the 15" will be replaced with something more modern - i´m thinking 19" or similar. Have a nice day gentlemen and a happy new Year when we get there. Cheers Søren
ChevyCoupe41 Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 (edited) Okay here is my entry. Starting point is old Monogram '78 Chevy El Camino gluebomb but it has almost all parts. Engine will be Chevy Big Block with tunnelram and lenco transmission. Only thing what i had done was that i removed original molded exhaust pipe. Now it needs some bondo and lots of sanding. Starting point is this. Some parts of it. Need to think what parts i really need on this project like what wheels etc. Here's pic after i removed that molded echaust pipe. Starting point of engine looks like this. Edited December 27, 2012 by ChevyCoupe41
Erik Smith Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Here is my starting point...1966 Nova with a little modern update to the drive train: May try to get a Bandit Resin Sedan to replace the hardtop, may not... The unstarted state:
A.R.C. Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 My official entry, the AMT 53 Ford street machine. Not all of the kit is there which is no big deal cuz I only want the body, so its gonna be a huge kitbash...of what I wont say but I did leave a couple hints in the picture. Like I said earlier it`ll have 4 wheels and scare little kids..............and the only color will be black. Cuz nothing says ingognito like a black 53 Ford p/u
64SS350 Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 (edited) Here is my Pantera entry, body primered from long ago. This kit is so simple I may do this one also, my dream 1:1, but not black. Edited December 28, 2012 by 64SS350

Cheers Søren love the story i can totally see this happening im not too excited to see 19inch rims under classic iron but thats your call (just be sure you can still steer) on a side note, this kit was one of the first i build when i got back into building and i still really like it i think its also one of the first kits i bought my nephew when i introduced him to model cars Here is my starting point...1966 Nova with a little modern update to the drive train: funny you should mention that...after seeing what i am up against i just pulled the trigger yesterday and bought a 96 corvette to steal the driveline out of to kinda make a pro-touring type build out of this (pics as soon as it gets here)
Jantrix Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 It's nice to see all the interest this year. It's gonna be fun.
HNTR Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 (edited) Here is my story. Originally we were going to use a Lincoln LSC built pro street style. After being talked out of it (thanks Erik) for lack of handling and bad gas mileage we had to ponder what vehicle to use that has good gas mileage, handling, and a reason to not get arrested. We came up with the Toyota Celica GT-Four due to race proven WRC build up and having great gas mileage, superb handling, and when being chased by the police instead of stopping we will just claim the accelerator is STUCK and we should get a police escort the rest of the way. Accelerator will be stuck to the floor for the whole race. That's my story and I am sticking to it. Edited January 3, 2013 by HNTR
Jantrix Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 That's my story and I am sticking to it. And I like it.

HNTR Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Are you SURE you have EVERYONE? I believe he is missing you and your Comaro. Am I right???
A.R.C. Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Heres a little incentive for HNTR. I like the idea of the Lincoln. You may not do too well in the corners but you`ll have no problems passing anything on the straights......... http://www.dragzine.com/news/larry-larsons-six-second-street-car-driving-to-competing-in-nhra/
Nick Winter Posted December 28, 2012 Author Posted December 28, 2012 I believe he is missing you and your Comaro. Am I right??? He has a name and no Mikes on the list for a few days, just missed Austin and his Porshe.
JM485 Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Any chance I could still get in on this? Not sure what I will build yet but I'm sure I can come up with something cool.
