rickd13 Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 How do you guys put the mock up version of a car together? I know you can't use a permanent glue because you have to take it apart to paint it. So what do you use to hold the mocked up version of the car together?
Cato Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 (edited) Elmers or Micro Krystal Klear-in small amounts. Edited December 23, 2012 by Cato
Foxer Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 All the above plus Microscale Micro Liquitape
Guest Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 I use crazy glue to tack parts together. A tiny drop holds well, but is easily popped back apart.
W-409 Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 I use Tamiya Masking Tape for small Mock Ups. If I have to mock up a lot of parts, then I use white glue which works very nicely. Parts are easy to take apart again, but they don't fall apart too easily.
TooOld Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 I use this . It's also available at Amazon .
southpier Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 "all of the above" of late, i am trying to use 00-90 screws, washers, & nuts where they'll be hidden in the final assembly. it depends on the assembly parts which method works best, and sometimes two or more need to be combined. making sub assemblies helps, too, in minimizing the juggling involved getting everything to look good and fit together. strategizing: i think it's one of the things i enjoy most and at the same time is most frustrating part of the hobby.
