Hello all, newb here. Just got back into the game. My first kid was born 16 months ago and i lost my hobby room, on top of that im a full time stay at home dad. Its been hard to find the time to set up and build when there's a baby needing my attention. This kit was started about 18 months ago then was boxed until 2 weeks ago when i decided to pick the hobby back up.

I made a lot of mistakes and found i'm very rusty. Tried using foil for the first time on the side vents, need more practice at that stuff!! Added seat belts but cant see them. Used a Detail Masters distributor, didn't like the way it came out. I rushed on painting the body and forgot to paint the engine bay before the decals went on. I ended up loosing the passenger headlight decal. Also forgot to paint the wiper arms before the glass went in. Still have to put a coil in the engine bay. Guess it could have went worse but i was hoping for better.

Feel free to be honest about what you see, it will only help me become a better builder.

After looking over the pics, I have to be honest and say... What a great model!

The only noticeable issue is slightly grainy paint, but that's it, everything else looks fine to me.

Keep it up!

The paint has small flakes in it, maybe that's what is giving it the grain, or i also shot these pictures a a high ISO (1600). It hasn't been polished, that's something on my list of stuff to learn how to do. I also should have cleared over the decals. I'm going to be buying another kit and building it again after i build my 1/12 Shelby GT500.

Thanks guys, im hoping to be much more active in modeling from now on. Im starting to want some of the first kits i built back when i got into the hobby.

Thanks. Wow just checked out the pictures again and it looks like there's not a drop of clear on the car!! lol Its got almost 4 coats of ultra gloss clear from Model Masters. I guess i need to take it outside on a sunny day and shoot it again. Man i did something wrong in Photoshop or something.

Nice comeback to the sport. My first model when I got back into this was nowhere near as nice. The boy-racer in me loves a car with a cage.

I'd change to a lighter color background , it will help show more details in the model . And forget about photoshop unless you need to adjust the exposure .

If you want honest opinions you need to show untouched photos .

Your Shelby looks really , really nice !

I had to adjust the exposure on all of them, lol my boy woke up from his nap right after i set the tripod up. He was trying to grab the camera the whole time i was shooting so i was just getting it over ASAP. Thanks for the comments, keep them rolling!

Very nice...........

Thanks.

Oh wow, that is nice, makes the one I am building look like a toy

Thank you.

Very well done and 1600 ISO probably wasn't the best, maybe 100 ISO and for a little longer exposure time. The model does look great though!

Yeah i noticed that after the shots were taken and i put everything up. I was rushing so my kid wouldn't destroy my fairly newish T2i or the model. Ill try and set up a non-rushed shoot sometime. I would do it tomorrow but i get the joy of jury duty. Just what i love to do on my only day without my son.
