Riley Customs
Here is the start of one of the largest dioramas that I have done. Most of them are about 11 X 11 but this one is going to be about 19 X 11. Here is what I've done so far. The wall frames are up and some foam boards have been cut. They are for a brick wall about 4 feet tall. Then going to simulate dry wall rest of the way up. Not sure what I am going to do with the floor so I will leave that til later when I have a better idea. In the corner there is going to be an office with storage on top for parts and what nots. This will be my first attempt at making stairs. Any ideas or tips on how to do that ?
Riley Customs
got the office built and the storage up top. now have to make the steps. Thinking I am gonna have to make a two stage stairs.
Riley Customs
Well after some time away working on other garages for people I finally got some ME time ! After looking at Crazy Richard's 1/24-25 hotrod garage post I really got the urge to work on mine again. Since the last post I have worked on the office, lunch room on top of the office, some pillars and a few other things. I started the brick walls along with the wooden pillars but this is where I am stuck at. I am not sure on which way to go with them. First I was thinking of doing half with brick , black stripe and white. Then I thought to just stain them or maybe just paint them black. For now I am going to stop with them until I figure it out. OH of course any ideas are welcome.
crazyjim
Keep going, Keith. I like what you're doing. I have years and years and years of parts I've been saving for a garage diorama. Maybe your build will be the push I need to build one too.

Riley Customs
Well it has been awhile.....with work, moving twice, work and family I am finally getting back to this shop. Finally have a place for all my stuff so I can get back to work. Here is a new project I have started for the shop. I needed to start building some work benches for the mechanics. This one is just roughed in. Still need to sand it down. The tool box mold had some air bubbles in it ( hate when that happens ) so it is just for mock up purposes. I will mold and paint a new one later. On top of the bench is the starts of a machinist lathe. Did alittle bit more work to the lathe. Sanded down some edges and built the bed to sit on top of the lathe and started the handles for speed and direction. placed a couple of positioning holes and pegs. Needs more sanding and some filler. Reasoning behind the positioning pegs is to be able to take the table off to sand, fill, built the compound, paint and to make a mold of the finish lathe so to be casted in resin. You know how it is, you build something it is very hard to make another exactly the same.
Yenkocamaro
Nice, looking good. Don't forget a restroom. I have been collecting parts- pieces for a Mega Dio, for years, but don't have the space to keep it out when finished. Cheers, Lance

Riley Customs
went a head and finished up the lathe workbench. Not sure if this is the final resting place for it but it fits pretty good. If I leave it here I will need to run the electric to it and also make a 55 gallon waste barrel for all the metal chips and garbage.

chunkypeanutbutter
You should make a space for those tanks to go on the wall with chain around them - unchained tanks is an expensive OSHA infraction.
