Mercman Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) I just received a new build job of a VINTAGE mint in the box kit. This kit was still sealed when I got it. Only one part had fallen off the parts tree. The customer wants a stock version of it, like he had . Just letting you know these old kits are still out there. Edited January 27, 2013 by Mercman
Edsel-Dan Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) I Love this. But this is a SUNLINER Not a Starliner. Starliner was the Glass fastback. The Modern tool 60 Galaxie is a Starliner. I wish they would have re-issued this back when they announced it. Not sure what was wrong with the tooling that they dropped it. Edited January 27, 2013 by Edsel-Dan
Mercman Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) Yeah I thought of the name after I posted it. Hey I was out with the Captain last night. Edited January 27, 2013 by Mercman
espo Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Just thinking, you may be able to build a better convertable by useing the '60 Starliner without the roof.
charlie8575 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Now this will be cool. I love seeing antique plastic getting built. Charlie Larkin
pharoah Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 wow,you can almost smell that vintage styrene.
Mercman Posted February 16, 2013 Author Posted February 16, 2013 Had some issues with the first coat of paint. Wet sanded them out, and put on another coat. Ready now for the Bare Metal Phase.
Modlbldr Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 A beautiful car for sure. Great work so far. There is an auction place in Spokane that has a 60 Starliner in their lot. I've been wanting to stop and take photos for a while now. Later-
Mercman Posted February 17, 2013 Author Posted February 17, 2013 Got the B-M done on it. Playing with some different tires. The client wants stock, but I can play a little.
