LAone
Well I started this last week. It was a few cold nights so I had to stop on the century for painting. I'll be getting back on the century as it seems we might have a nice weekend for painting. This is the tamiya kit with Factory81 wide body kit designed by Kei Miura of TRA-Kyoto. It's part of his Rocket Bunny line. I like the design of the body kit as it flows with the body lines really nice. Here it is with the rear mocked up. The black markings is where the body needs to be cut to fit the wider arches. Here I had the arces glued in place. The front bumper wasnt aligned correctly in this pic. Here I aligned the bumper and glued the flares on the other side. The rear diffuser. You can see how wide it is now. I added some putty to the lower part of the bumper. Heres the putty sanded down and a peek at what's to come in the engine bay. It's gonna be a tight squeeeeeez... Why twin turbo?? Well back like 10 years ago i watched an old tuner video from Japan that had an ae86 corolla with a twin turbo 1600, so I figured I'd pay some homage to that 86. This is where I'm at so far. I have to hit up tamiya for a new chassis as the one I have is warped. A first for me with a tamiya kit.

LAone
Thanks guys Jonathan, you have another shot at getting the wide body ki as they have restocked them. Jason, they are made by factory81/Thomas garage. They are on Facebook. Look up factory81 or Thomas Wong if you wish to purchase it. It fits quit good after some cleaning up. It also comes with a lot of goodies.
Blown03SVT
Different, it's starting to look like a car from the stanceworks page. The BBS RS's, heavy negative camber and the stretched rubber complete the look. Nice!
LAone
Thanks Eric, I think I know which car you're referring to. He's a local guy, orange and supercharged. The BBS are just in trial fitting right now, not sure I'm gonna go with these.

Luis, its funny, after I posted that, later that night I seen the FaceBook posting about the restocking, now I just need to make myself ok with the price lol Edited February 3, 2013 by martinfan5
LAone
Haha, it's a good deal I think. Comes with plenty of goodies. Since I'm up, I started on the turbo set up. Heres what I have in mind.
LAone
So I've been working on this on and off. So far I have smoothed out the body as best as possible, primed in tamiya white, worked on the turbo set up, wheel barrels and also got some suspension work done as well. Here are the pics. To be able to fit the wheels and achieve a lowered and demon cambered look I had to make my own hub and spindle. Parts bin hubs and styrene. What I'm shooting for. I'll be putting down a silver base coat tonight and in a couple days, color via nail polish.

LAone
Thanks Del. I just saw your reply. Well I've been dragging my feet on building. Been having busy work weeks as of lately. But I have been doing little things like shooting primer on parts, working on the plumbing of the twin snail power plant and painting the spoilers. Here's a couple pics. Twin snails and twin intercoolers on the R&D chassis. I am "V" mounting the radiator. Not a clear shot, but you can see it in there. Color I chose for the spoilers. It's a lot nicer in person, maybe need the sunlight and an actual camera to capture the flakes. Still got a bit to go, but I will be getting on it this weekend. LAone
Ok, so I'm obviously a slow builder...haha but here's an update. I worked on the piping for the turbo set up. Just needs a bit of tweaking. Painted a rising sun on the firewall. Top one is the first attempt. The sun isn't round...so I fixed it. 2nd pic of it fixed and in place. Here is the yellow I chose for it. It's a pale yellow but it has a bit of a pearl in it. Needs some sanding then some more coats.
LAone
Very small update. I started on a back half roll cage. My friend over at Battle Version designed it for the FR-S as a bolt in unit which is left hand. I made it for RHD. Still got to put the bars for the rear.
