Paxton Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 The matra djet 5 is a pretty little French sport car of the sixties. The rea lone is powered by a 1300cc Renault engine. this model is a rare kit Verneuil poorly built when I was a kid. I completely rebuilt and modified it to accommodate a chassis and engine of Ferrari 348 Italaeri. Wheels come from a Alpine A110 Burago.
Paxton Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 some pics of the wip. first, i removed old paint with "Glanzer" :
Paxton Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 Instrument panel has been drawed in photoshop :
Austin T Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 You are an artist with plastic! And you also have such a wide variety of cars you build. I would like this post, but sadly there is no like button.
randx0 Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 great execution. I also like the included benchwork as well ,always nice to see the method to the madness.
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Wow, that's unusual and imaginative. I used to know the owner of a French restaurant here who had a Djet, many years ago. Like the midship Ferrari power. A very European take on the hot-rod concept.
hvymtl Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Really like this one alot, first take was it looks like the Alpine. But only better And with the hot rodding done to it which camp would complain first the Matra people or the Ferrari camp for killing a 348. Michael
vintagercr Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Excellent work! Keep them coming. I enjoy seeing your work.
wisdonm Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Very original and nicely done. Thanks for posting the wip pixs.
Erik Smith Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Great model and fantastic work. That work putting in the window molding is impressive.
IMSANUT Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Cool, cool, cool. It has the "gotcha" factor in spades.
Scuderia Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 That's just beautiful all over. The modifications for the trim, the flares, putty work an chassis/engine is just smashing. Great stuff!
Jantrix Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 That's just beautiful all over. The modifications for the trim, the flares, putty work an chassis/engine is just smashing. Great stuff! That goes double for me. Beautiful work.
