Draggon Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Here's my poor little stalled out project. I fubar-ed the paint, then decided I hated the lime green, so its just sitting on the shelf.
mrknowetall Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 If you have a Revell Bantam body, build it up into something cool. Might as well. I built that Bantam in about '91 or so, and I had (have) no issue with using hard to find stuff. Build 'em all! I dig all of the builds you posted above!
Davewilly Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I guess this would go here...Its got slicks and a Hemi...
jbwelda Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 not to get too far off the topic but have you ever seen a stock bantam? i dont think i had either until i came across this one at a local classic and rod show:
mrknowetall Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Never in person that I can recall. Neat little car!
Pete L. Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 (edited) Here's my poor little stalled out project. I fubar-ed the paint, then decided I hated the lime green, so its just sitting on the shelf. Wow, this is cool...finish the car when you can !!! Edited February 20, 2013 by Pete L.
Pete L. Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 My ancient '29 on '32 rails, built long before Revell's series of mid-nineties Deuce kits were released. Really cool build, looks great...I especially like the rr wheel/tire combo !!!
James2 Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 (edited) It could if it were set up as more of a Drag Car. "Street Roadster" was a NHRA class! Some great looking models here guys. Edited February 9, 2013 by James2
MADmodelDOCTOR Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 untitled drags.bmpI think that along with fenders fr and rr they also had to have headlights as well as a windscreen. This is definately cool! Great thread guys.
tim boyd Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 (edited) In the spirit of keeping this thread going....here's one from the 2011 NNL NATIONALS... http://images57.fotki.com/v256/photos/6/998986/10122006/DSC_0893-vi.jpg Chris Waroner is the builder of this '32 Ford AA/SR dragster. tim boyd Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 (edited) Hmmm...now where have we seen this one before??? Well actually, back at the beginning of this very thread. Here's a picture I took of Jame's A/SR when he displayed it at the 2011 NNL Nationals. Sweet! Tim Edited February 16, 2013 by tim boyd
tim boyd Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 (edited) From the 2012 NNL Nationals.... http://images51.fotki.com/v299/photos/6/998986/11162415/DSC_0453-vi.jpg It wears "B/A" (B Altered) NHRA classification livery, which means it is a post-1971 or so replica, but to my eyes this one is a classic 1960's A/SR drag racing machine. Darrell Peters' "Altered States" is based on the MPC '32 Chevy Cabriolet kit, but wears all the appropriate A/SR modifications. They finishing touch is a sharp 409 Chevy engine, a terrific choice vs. the so-commonly seen SBC's out there. And yes, this is the same Darryl better known as "Doctor Darryl" who makes some pretty cool aftermarket drag and Midget decals for us....TIMhttp://images50.fotki.com/v1573/photos/6/998986/11162415/DSC_0459-vi.jpg Edited February 16, 2013 by tim boyd
gonzo64nova Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Here's my poor little stalled out project. I fubar-ed the paint, then decided I hated the lime green, so its just sitting on the shelf. I love this, just paint the scoop and radiator shell with red oxide primer, paint the roll bar white and put some numbers and a class on the doors with some thinned out white paint and it would look awesome. Then it would look perfect for that era of race car.
James2 Posted February 16, 2013 Author Posted February 16, 2013 I have most the pieces to build some thing like this. I have another project going now but may add this to the short list. Thanks for posting the picture Tim.
Draggon Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Thanks for the props Pete and Bill. This was my original version, but fixing the radiator shell was problematic, and putting the moon tank in front made it look goofy. I like the way it is now, with the hood and no tank. I'm planning on painting it with the new Testor's Aztec pearl green, close to the original color, but being acrylic, very easy to spray.

tim boyd Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 (edited) My own "evil twin" to the '32 A/SR posted elsewhere on this board... Thanks for looking... Oh how I wish we could line up all the drag racing Street Roadsters shown in this thread for our own mini-NNL event! TIM Edited February 23, 2013 by tim boyd

James2 Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 BUMP I was digging through my spare parts, looking for pieces for a build of something like this...
