wheaton79chris Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 on my workbench my first real project in years. my better half insisted I get it
W-409 Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 It looks like Revell's Black Widow to me, but can't be sure. Progress so far looks really nice, I guess I have to start hacking on mine again.
Chris White Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 A happy life is a "xxxx" wife, you fill in the blanks, can't wait to see the car
wheaton79chris Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 It is the black widow. Thanks for the comments guys. More pics coming soon
wheaton79chris Posted June 12, 2013 Author Posted June 12, 2013 A little progress. I should be done with it in a couple of day
Jantrix Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Looks like you are doing a nice clean job. If you haven't already order some Bare Metal Foil for the trim. It takes some practice to use, but you just can't do a 50's car without it.
wheaton79chris Posted June 13, 2013 Author Posted June 13, 2013 Thanx jantrix. Right now bmf isn't within my resources. I had planned on attempting it but without the cash I just try to build clean and different from everyone else's. Thats why I shaved the side trim
wheaton79chris Posted June 13, 2013 Author Posted June 13, 2013 Gonna use the 07 decals flipped around to 70. Also gonna use some of the kit decals and if I have some hidden around here I'm gonna use white goodyear lettering on the tires
charlie8575 Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Looking good, Chris. That silver/black pattern decal looks surprisingly good with a beige interior, and will go well with the red. It's nice to have a wife (or girlfriend) that actually encourages building. I might end up with one of those myself, someday. Charlie Larkin
wheaton79chris Posted June 14, 2013 Author Posted June 14, 2013 Thanks charlie. I was kinda leary about those but I think it works. I knew the beige and red would mate well because my 79 camaro was fire engine red with a sand interior. Nancie is very supportive and even when we don't have the funds she makes sure I get myself something every month to add to my collection so I can't ask for much better.
wheaton79chris Posted August 1, 2013 Author Posted August 1, 2013 Been back to building and this is a test fit shot
b_lever1 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 A happy life is a "xxxx" wife, you fill in the blanks, can't wait to see the car ?????????????? is it a model building wife
wheaton79chris Posted August 2, 2013 Author Posted August 2, 2013 Well truth be told were not together anymore
wheaton79chris Posted August 3, 2013 Author Posted August 3, 2013 The general didn't survive the trip too well so when I pull it back out I will have a lot of fixing to do
