Frank Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Does any caster do parts to build a clone of the blue beetle
Dan Helferich Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland casts the heads and Cadillac script valve covers. Ed Fluck of Drag City Casting casts the seats. Not sure what else is out there.

cooltoys1 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland also casts all the scuba gear too, and its very well done.
Frank Posted February 14, 2013 Author Posted February 14, 2013 Does the the Caddy engine used in the Blue beetle come in any other kits
Dan Helferich Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 It's in the Monogram '29 Model A pickup kit but it has different valve covers and intake/carbs. Replicas and Miniatures casts the heads and script valve covers in resin. The 6x2 manifold and carbs in the Monogram '30 Woody kit could be adapted to the Caddy.
Frank Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 Does anyone cast the correct wheels for the Blue Beetle. I know they come in a couple of other kits, which are just as hard to find and high prtices.
cooltoys1 Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 (edited) Get a re-issue of Monograms Lil'Coffin or Boothill Express, they are somewhat cheap(around $20)for the rear rims and the tires. You will need a Monogram Predicta or Monograms Orange Hauler for the front tires and wheels.(also somewhat inexpensive) These are not exact, but very close to the Blue Beetles. The original Blue Beetle had 2 bar spinner knockoffs as well, alot of kits have those. Edited February 25, 2013 by cooltoys1

The cheapest I have seen (and I have been trying to buy both of these kits) has been about 50.00... give or take 5.00
Dan Helferich Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 The Boot Hill Express has just been reissued.
Greg Myers Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Ma's Resin has the rears with tires and brake backing plates.
duesie Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I would like to model a clone of the Monogram Blue Beetle pickup. I have the body from a late kit, but neet the seats and the cadillac valve covers. I thought I had read somewhere that someone was casting the seats and valve covers. I know Replica and Minitures does the scuba tank and such. Thanks for any suggestions. Larry Casey
