mrmike Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 This is my ZZ Top Eliminator '33 Ford painted with Tamiya TS-49 Bright Red.
Custom Hearse Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 That came out beautifully Mike! I definitely need to break mine out!!!!
TFchronos Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Nice build, it looks fantasic! *starts playing ZZ Top*
scalemodelworld Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 You've done a great job rebuilding this. The colour looks amazing
Simon Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Looks nice, great paintwork. When I was at school I used to sit in my room in the evenings, building model cars and listening to (then current) ZZ Top's Afterburner and Recycler albums. This is a great model which brings back a different era of hotrods and customs.
Mr Dedo Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Very nice! What did you use to tone down the shine on the rims?
rmvw guy Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Looks good and the way it was meant to be built. I remember seeing the real one in Indy one time with the ZZ-Top girls signing autographs.
mrmike Posted March 4, 2013 Author Posted March 4, 2013 Thanks guys! Very nice! What did you use to tone down the shine on the rims? Time. I did nothing to the rims, so I surmise that time has faded the chrome a bit. Then again, they could have been that way when I first built the kit back in the mid '80s. I don't remember...time has a funny way of doing that...
bsoder Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Makes me wanta' throw on some ZZ top!...nice work my friend
bowtieboss Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I love that car reminds me of the album art from ZZTOP
