Nxr Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Just finished this after wanting to make a model of this type for a long time, added the computer, although may be slightly fictional still looks very bad ass. Really like the outcome of this model, the wood is home depot pine routed with a ridgid router and stained with sedona red with 2 coats of high gloss polyurethane.
TooOld Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 It looks really nice ! Great detailing in the interior . How did you paint the trim around the windows so nice ?
Nxr Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 Taking small pieces of blue tape and slowly outlining each trim with it, i seem to suck at bare metal foil and its also expensive so i just paint the trimmings by masking them off... very slow and boring process that extends the build by a long time. lol
Nxr Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 Kind of the plan here for a decent display, i enjoyed making the wood and love the models when they finally go together. The other 4 spots are for a 1968 4 door Plymouth fury in white, a 1965 continental in black, another 1970 ltd in ivory, 1970 Pontiac Bonneville in red and there is also a working rotating display which i want to place a 1962 electra on with a continental kit.
Sixties Sam Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Very well done model. It reminds me of Steve McGarrett's car in the original Hawaii 5-0 TV show, although I think that was a Mercury. The wooden base is classy. Good work! Sam
Ramfins59 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Great job Eugene. That interior is awesome... especially the dashboard.
Nxr Posted February 26, 2013 Author Posted February 26, 2013 Some more pictures, motor and back. Visited toys r us today with my friend and ended up with some of those tiny 1/64s on the very left, i couldnt resist the red on red galaxie haha. Cars are great.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Very nice Galaxie!! Black on black, yes it looks bad ass!!
charlie8575 Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 With that police in-car computer, it could be a piece from the unfortunately short-lived series "Life on Mars" a few years ago. Nice job. Charlie Larkin
XJ6 Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Like the Subject.....Very Nice Job... Cheers Don..
